    Middle East Airspace Diversions/Cancellations

Looks like EK has extended its restricted schedule to/from Australia to ~1 May.

A single place to visit between Lyon & Brussels

https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/tgv-inoui is the link. Adding Strasbourg to Brussels brings up the route (leaving at 17.01 each day).

About 4 hours each IIRC. The SNCF services are on TGV Inoui. Looking at the SNCF site, the tickets are available to book now too.

A single place to visit between Lyon & Brussels

Eh? There are direct trains between Lyon and Strasbourg through SNCF and DB, and one daily service from Strasbourg to Brussels on SNCF. Assuming my May trip goes ahead, I'll be taking the train from Bordeaux to Strasbourg. Several hours but nonstop. It's just that the full schedules probably...

Credit Card Offers NAB Qantas Signature Visa card - $250 cashback and 100,000+30,000 Qantas points

You're assuming NAB works the same as other credit cards. This is not the case with NAB Qantas cards though. I met the Signature spend in the first statement period. I got the points at the time of the second statement after month two.

The bonus points hit the statement period after when the spend is met, not the statement period when it’s met.

    Emirates Delays/Cancellations

More that they haven't cancelled flights that aren't operating. As the waiver's been extended to 15 April, I'd expect cancellations to be extended accordingly in the next few days.

Who else still holds the Citibank Free For Life Premier Card?

This one's pretty minor though. It clarifies the delay expenses are per 24 hour period. EDIT - the other changes were announced in April 2025.

Change to Qantas Lounge Pass Transfers Effective July ‘26

Yes, but I'd need to get lounge passes first. And the wording above suggests that transfers can only occur to persons on the same flight. In other words, the issue is not transferring to my dad - it's getting a pass in the first place...

Change to Qantas Lounge Pass Transfers Effective July ‘26

It's really annoying for me personally as I occasionally chaperone my dad and his partner on travels. As a SG, I can guest one person in but need a lounge pass for the other person. No more it seems. :(

EK waiver extended to 15 April with rebooking until 31 May permissible. I imagine Qantas will follow suit soon.

    Booking backup flights to Europe

Negatory, squire. EK is only refunding bookings up to 31 March (EDIT - now 15 April). After that, everything's going to be peachy, apparently... Booking flights on other airlines is not something EK is in the habit of doing. ;) FWIW, I've caved and booked MEL-SIN on QF and CDG-HKG-MEL on AF...

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

It's one of the great ironies/perversities of Australia permitting surcharging that the most expensive means of payment for business - payment by cash, with all of the attendant handling costs - is perceived to be the cheapest form of payment as it's 'free'...

The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

Going to have to hit up Qantas FF yet again. :( Put through two transactions at Lotte duty free at MEL last night. Both lots of points showed up on my activity statement but only one of them actually credited. Quite a nasty bug that one, as if I hadn't checked before getting on the plane...

    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

4x$65 for 8000 points and $70 for 800 points in week one of that have popped up. Will complete that. (Also need to see if there's $40 of tat at Big W worth buying. I suspect not, but you never know).

If you’ve got Qantas points and are PC, MEL-xx_-SYD (usually CBR) on classic rewards is the cheapest way to rack up four QF/JQ sectors. If not, look for cheap connecting flights.
