I flew EK (Book on QF code) from MEL to SIN last Fri, status credit and points appeared in my account yesterday morning. So that's less than 48 hours, in my case. I was travelling on discount economy, so that's 30 status credit plus 3000+ points.

Yes... By reading the link provided by @moa999 (and thanks), there should be no problem to access lounge when flying out on EK to DXB, which is a great news. But on my way back, I will transit in SIN, so looks like it not gonna work as you have to travel to DXB or AUS...
