Your Qantas year in review (2025)

Probably need to think about the distribution a bit more, it's unlikely to be a normal distribution within the P1 cohort. Probably more like a big lump at 3600 SC and then a long tail. that will skew the averages. For example, if we say 1500 earn minimum that's 5.4 million SC, that would leave...

Qantas to No Longer offer a Points option for Loyalty Bonus

Have trawled back through a number of emails - Zero notification of this change. Should probably fight for the points, since I'm 65 SC short of requalifying platinum less than 3 months into the year. However, not sure I could be bothered. WRONG - I have taken both points and SC, depending on...

Your Qantas year in review (2025)

Top 1% of flyers with 30 flights and 5% for points earners. Number of flights matches ok with My Fligth Radar which says 34 QF flights (note 4 flights since 16 December). The interesting part is the business rewards that says the business earned on 24 flights, but I put all flights into the...

On the positive side, Brisbane premium entry has managed to fix the problem with queuing for the body scanner...

    Got scammed mycard(citi)

My experience with card fraud department calling is they ask if your making a purchase right now in location, for example Louis Vuittion Singapore. you then confirm yes or no... and that is ALL No numbers, not account details NOTHING. Anyting else is a scam warning for all.

    New BNE Passenger screening point

For those wondering about the body scanners, they're looking for density. I regularly get checked for my sweaty back. Every time I say "you get to touch my sweat now" Need to make sure pockets are smoothed out, socks not bunched up. Those scanners love a single layer... anything higer density...

SYD - MEL - TYO - BLR - Will bags be checked through?

Yes, you will be able to collect your luggage. If worried make sure you say you want to collect luggage when you check in at Sydney. Also are you flying to Bengaluru? What airport do you mean with TOK? not how I read it. Seems really clear they want their luggage back. Given a 20 hour...

    Velocity Wrapped for 2025

😂 no percentage for me... They kind of killed the love when they proactively decided I'd miss a domestic connnection in Brisbane and downgraded me to economy on the replacement flight. Then I was actually able to arrive in time for boarding on the orginal flight to scan board pass (no checked...

Release of 1000 Biz Rewards seats to Paris ( and more)

I flew to CDG earlier this year, got the TGV immediately to Lille. No need to stop in Paris with the train connections. I actually think this might be a good option to connect to Eurostar to get to London. might need to track this down... There is the annual Champagne promo...

    QF Platinum Recognition on flights

I did not say you've disparged the service standard. I actually wondered why you feel the need to make disparging comments about people sharing experience in this thread. You seem to have completely misunderstood my post. Not sure if deliberately, interesting that you did not quote the part of...

    QF Platinum Recognition on flights

Maybe the same reason people tend to misunderstand that airlines have service standard that incoludes individual welcomes for some customers that the airline perceives to be of value. Why do people feel the need to enter a discussion about experiences with airline determined service standards to...

    QF Platinum Recognition on flights

Interesting thread. Over the last week or so, QF53, QF1 general greeting and recogition as platinum in business and Y+. QF1 painful steps to make sure a hot breakfast was available for me as they did service back to front. QF 2 zero recognition in Y+. Did notice 3 others in the cabin getting...

    QF32 (A380) returns for 1 (?) flight. SIN-MEL 1st December 2025.

I got bumped from QF36 to Qf38 on Saturday night. It was somewhat painful adding approx 4 hours to return time from London. QF38 was pretty empty, the menu was basic and limited - understandable given the departure time. The change was a point of discussion as there were 12 in Y+ from QF2. The...

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Yep, it will be interesting to see the pricing. My next trip to london, the pricing was rather interesting, I ended up booking via singapore, because double SC. But the flights via PER with QF9/10 were slightly cheaper. This is in Y however, so I didn't want to do PER-LHR in Y while playing...

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Link to earning tables. https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/earn-points/airline-earning-tables/qantas-and-jetstar-earning-tables.html Interestingly, looks like SYD-PER-LHR/CDG should earn about 100 in economy, and that would be more direct, compared to SYD-MEL-SIN-LHR

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

it's about the same according to the calculator. 95 SC in economy for SYD-LHR. 95 for MEL-SIN-LHR. So you get an extra bit for SYD-MEL at a cost of what? 3 hours... 🤔

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Or perhaps Airbus just number each aircraft they build with consecutive numbers to help keep track of them and for QC/QA purposes. Boring hey? Nice coincidence however https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus_A350
