Melbourne Airport unveils $4.5 billion international terminal expansion

Anything will be finished before the train. After decades we still don't have a train to the airport, let alone fast rail along the east coast.

Article: How to Write an Effective Airline Complaint

Well done on the outcome, better than nothing. Interesting they say 'the thoughtful way' of your email. They must get a lot of OTT demands and threats of going to sue, never flying again etc etc.

Taken QF general lounge invitations × 2 expiring Sunday 1 March 2026

One pass is still available. If you want it, post in this thread - do not privately message me as per OP. If you can't post in this thread it's probably because you don't meet the guidelines.

Have you ever had a hotel charge you for something you did not get or sign for?

I'm a bit worried about being charged for the minibar but happily that hasn't happened yet. I'm happy with hotels that don't put anything in there so I can refrigerate my own water. I've had a couple of charges on the bill for things like dinner at their restaurant (which I'd almost never do...

I thought these passes could only be used at QF-operated lounges, and JFK is a partner AA lounge?

Thanks for posting that. Normally QF isn’t so helpfully explicit and it’s a game of pot luck whether these passes which are a benefit can be used when you’re travelling!

Taken QF general lounge invitations × 2 expiring Sunday 1 March 2026

I have two Qantas general lounge passes to give away which expire Sunday 1 March 2026. If you are interested, post in this thread - do not PM. Strong preference for long-standing and contributing members. Once I nominate the recipient, naturally you'll need to provide your surname and QFF #.

Article: Should Airlines & Hotels Offer Last-Minute Discounts?

I don't know the answer to the headline question but I'm in the camp that holdouts for DSCs are a small percentage of customers (even if various ahem tricks are used to maximise them). I'm guessing that, even with a nice spike to QF's revenues during DSC and the reported surge in public sector...

Where did you visit for its geographical significance?

The Korean DMZ which probably doesn't really count, it's more a political than a geographic border. Would love to visit some of the places already mentioned. I've been to the tri borders near Victoria Falls and Iguazu Falls, although they were already part of the tours rather than a dedicated...
