Who suggested that? Like many (most?) my understanding is that IDL's are only required when the license uses a different alphabet (or syllabary) from the country being visited.

Far simpler to establish a relationship with a TA who is prepared to book from ITAmatrix itineraries... Be warned though...not everything you find on ITA is actually able to be booked....

That's not my experience at all with US based airlines... I am aware of prospective PASSENGERS who got that wrong, thinking "Comfort +" or "Economy Plus" or whatever WERE Premium Economy- suffering the obvious disappointment and then whining........ but I never saw UA (for instance) advertise...

Maybe so... but if you CHOOSE to live in such a place , don't you have to accept the limitations that come with that choice? We seem to have a fair number of people in this country who voluntarily live in out of the way - or even remote - places who somehow expect access to all the same...

And then if they didn't get it for $999 they'd be all over social media talking about 'bait and switch".... ;)

I was watching a short youtube doco about Skylab...and (due to damage at launch) the first mission onboard was one of repair..... comments were made that THAT was the huge benefit of manned programs rather than unmanned. People can improvise and adapt....

Can I ask why you think they should? There are plenty of comments on here decrying the fact that taxpayers money will be used to pay for repatriation... isn't it just as bad - or worse - to use (private) financial institutions funds to make people whole for something those institutions have...

A terrific review... although your access to the QF F lounge and the benefits (like award availability) of being Platinum with QF have I think coloured your view somewhat. I was Gold Elite (now just called Elite) on NZ for a number of years...which gave ME benefits that would have coloured MY...

Recently flew NH ORD-NRT in F... (Lifemiles redemption) and it was every bit as good (better in some ways like bigger screen etc) as my CX F experience (opup) and WAAAY better - naturally - than the BA flight I did up front. I would find it hard to believe that NH F was affected in any way...

Every incident/situation which I have ever been actually involved in or had personal knowledge of.... that WAS reported in the media, was misreported to a lesser or greater extent. I'll trust jb747s comment. And wait for the report....

Flew back that way 2 weeks ago. The Polaris lounge at ORD was a nice start to the trip...and F on NH was.... damn good. (No surprise there! lol) Only 2 pax in F...and the FA made up the seat across the aisle into a bed so I could move from one to the other as desired. The problem with F...

Given the accounts here of QF charging an airfares worth of YQ on Y redemptions it is...ahem... interesting to hear THEM complain of "gouging"...no? :)
