    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

I already do that and nothing happens. I guess the marketing head honcho has had their budget severly cut back.

Six million people a year would use train to Melbourne Airport

But maybe they could get it wrong in Sydney too (WSI?). And, yes, the Metro line from IST goes to nowhere in particular, if you're wanting to go to the city. I usually try to take the public bus to where I am going (not downtown, if there is such a place in Istanbul), it's more convenient, for me.

    Middle East Airspace Diversions/Cancellations

I have a J ticket on EY, MNL-AUH-MXP for 3 weeks time. I don't expect to fly (the flights likely will be cancelled), but I do expect a full refund from Etihad. That being the case, I'll go to Thailand instead (perhaps I should've booked that in the first place). BKK and CNX, with a little...

Qantas unveils the biggest changes to status in program history

Well, as I'm 1,800 SC's away from LTG and also interested in maintaining WP, I'm still focussing on SC's for the next couple of years.

Six million people a year would use train to Melbourne Airport

I think we'll worry about all that after the rail line has been built and trains are running . Not in my lifetime, I think.

    Middle East Airspace Diversions/Cancellations

You seem to have a benign view of things. I'm booked to fly through AUH on EY in 3 weeks time, and I don't have the good feel that you have. I don't see the regime - there will be many survivors - being subdued anytime soon, even if their missile coughnal is depleted. I expect they will have an...

What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

My prediction. It's going up (but maybe not tomorrow).

    How does Hertz treat you

I always go to the Fyshwick depot. It's corporate, while Mitchell is a franchise, hence the difference. If you want a trouble free ride, just pay for the all-inclusive insurance. As someone who's using a corporate code, it's not all that expensive, and will save you a lot of hassles.

    ExpertFlyer getting desperate?

    I'll stick with seats.aero, thanks.

    Middle East Airspace Diversions/Cancellations

This is going to get quite messy I think. Will be interesting to see how my Etihad flight goes in a few weeks time.

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

Good for you. You've made your decision and it works for you. That's what it's all about,

Australian Dual Citizens Entering UK after February

Yes, that's probably what I would have done. I don't think it would have been a problem (either way).

    Refused Drink Service on Qantas

That's interesting. Many years ago I was flying EK in Y from DXB to SIN (I think) in a middle row seat (just lucky I guess) and my seat neighbour (a lovely British older man) did seem to like the odd red wine. I was also drinking red (miini bottles of course), but at a moderate rate. My...

Qantas unveils the biggest changes to status in program history

I'm not getting too excited about it right now. It's Qantas we're talking about, right?

Yep, my bad math. But still pretty good. seats.aero helped.

QF Double Status Credits February 2026 Promo

Well, in the end, I managed to find a half decent PC+ CR status run from CBR in September. Business Class CBR-SYD-BNE-MKY R/T for 58,000 pts and $500, giving a return of 224 SC.

Six million people a year would use train to Melbourne Airport

The answer is simple. Just don't fly into MEL at stupid time (and yes, I have lived there, but not now thankfully).

Australian Dual Citizens Entering UK after February

Dream? And when you say Brit do you include Australian citizens that were born here? What an odd (even offensive) statement.

Of course, this all on your own dime.

Bonus Velocity Status Credits for VA flights - Book & fly between 12 January and 31 March 2026

No, snuff the candle out! Bain might have "rescued" VA, but their American approach wasn't what was needed for Australia (well apart from the money). My view, based on how VA2 has developed, is that it might have been better if Rex had won the argument (not the cheap American takover of REX...
