Major 2025 Qantas Frequent Flyer program changes

Dude come on, Qantas PR tells us there are record numbers of classic award seats available!! It's not their fault you don't want to fly between Albury and Griffith on a Tuesday afternoon when there is unlimited classic award space.

Major 2025 Qantas Frequent Flyer program changes

The simple answer is: Premium cabins have record high demand, globally. The cost to fly premium cabins, especially in/out of AUS, is priced at a premium. Let's call it the Australia tax. So if you're running a for-profit airline in arguably one of the most expensive countries on earth to live...

Qantas surveying members about spend-based status attainment

QF will go spend-based for everything eventually for two simple reasons. 1) Everyone at QF is incentivized not to rock the boat, to do what their boss wants and keep their job. Think about it - Sky-high property prices in Sydney don't pay themselves...interests are aligned with their job and...

The Emirates First Experience - What to Expect?

Same flight #. Note that if, for example, you are QF Gold on QF# but EK plane, and your friend is on QF ticket but EK flight number, you are technically not on the same flight # for lounge access/billing purposes. If you're on cash biz/first ticket, or hold EK status, this carries more weight...

BA Executive Club change to spend-based status earning

AFKL/Flying Blue is matching up to Platinum status for alienated BA elites: https://www.turningleftforless.com/flying-blue-launches-british-airways-status-match/

I hour transit at Dxb...same PNR. Doable?

All EK flights in DXB begin boarding 45-60min before departure. I'm sure she'll make the connection, but no promises on overhead bag space. Assuming she's not in F. The only issue is if she arrives into, say A gates, and departs C gates - which is, at best a 20-30min event gate to gate with no...

BA Executive Club change to spend-based status earning

BA (like QF), respond to media, and not to customers directly. Therefore, the best way to help BA reverse things, is to get more media noise. The easiest way IMO to do this as an individual is to do a status match using your BA status elsewhere. More status matches -> more media -> pressure on...

Frequent flyers whose kids have hit gold status

My kids have had status with a few airlines. Not too difficult with J/F travel. There is something magical about a 3-year-old guesting you into the lounge when their status is higher than yours.

BA Executive Club change to spend-based status earning

There is almost no such thing as a 'bad elite', especially in oneworld. There are only 2 types of bad customers I can think of, and neither would warrant BA making the changes they did. Silvers in the back of the bus..... consider this: would they fly BA if they didn't have status? Do those...

Emirates Platinum Status - What Matching Opportunities Exist

Skywards Platinum status takes significant spend/travel to achieve. If you're looking for a status match it might be easier to start out with what you want, versus what you can get.

Etihad Guest status match for Australian residents [improved offer as of 22/11/24]

It looks like the free gold (plat?) offer for AU has expired and now has a US $79 application fee. As with all these kinds of promos you gotta get in early or miss out! I gave EY Plat a whirl... the F lounge in AUH has an incredible menu!

Etihad Guest status match for Australian residents [improved offer as of 22/11/24]

A dual-airline strategy can be as follows: - Retain your VA status based on domestic travel - Try Etihad for one of the 1...2...3...4.. intl trips you do each year. Their prices are typically less than every other airline and if they make it easy to retain Gold/Plat, then why not? AUH (on EY)...

How long will QF use DSC promos - Your guess?

More likely, they'll wake up and realise that they can charge users a fee to opt in to double status credit promotions. Our company runs that exact tech/offer for another oneworld airline, performs extraordinarily well. Qantas - send me a DM
