    Qantas HY26 results

All the Finnair 333s are 2009/10 deliveries, quite a bit younger than QFs 333s which are late 2003- 2005. Picking up more may be an option if it suits QF and AY in the future.. but on the QF side has to be balanced by all the other new aircraft arriving. Aircraft possibly OH-LTN which...

    Qantas HY26 results

Good find. That would definitely make most sense - and QF could keep the same layout. From what I could find elsewhere the dry lease phase is 3-4 years, so stretching to late 2028/2029 for QPK and QPL.. which is also why the two dry-leased aircraft seemingly won't have Wifi (see that thread)

Qantas unveils the biggest changes to status in program history

Think it's every additional 10,000 SCs gives you a year of banked platinum.. up to 5 years which you'd get at 65,000.

Qantas unveils the biggest changes to status in program history

Doesn't always have to be something for everyone. But id think most P1s would benefit from rollover SCs, and the new banked platinum reward levels.

Sunrise now being talked about as mid-2027. Appears most/all of the 12 aircraft will arrive by June 2029.

    Qantas HY26 results

Additional notes from the text in adjacent page - delivery of 9x new aircraft in 1H26: 2x A321LRs, 1x A320neo, 4x A220-300s and 2x A321XLRs - 2 of the 13 ex-3K aircraft are being held for sales (assume this is VH-X3P and X3R which remain stored at ASP.. and were originally Tiger Air aircraft)...

    Qantas starts international wifi

A380s had previously been meant to get Wifi during 2026. Completion date definitely pushed out - now July 2027 Footnotes also interesting. I presume that means that it's out of scope for both of the dry leased aircraft VH-QPK or VH-QPL Note that QF is also buying an additional 333 in FY26...

Qantas unveils the biggest changes to status in program history

Plus no more points club which might also impact SC earn for some. Will rollover work differently for those with LTS or LTG, given you essentially have a 0 SC retain target?

Qantas unveils the biggest changes to status in program history

More on LTG benefits in the assets page. Activated every 10,000 SC, so not exactly easy, per the AFF article, first banked year granted at 25,000 SC. Definitely more a steps to LTP path. Also will be retrospective for those at those levels.

    “new” QF B737-800s

Ref here - https://www.qantas.com/en-au/onboard/fleet/737 See config 2, described as 737-8SA, as distinct from 737-800 (SA is the Silk Air code) No Economy Plus seats, just Forward. So seemingly back to plan A of flying these on select routes out of BNE. Also on that page

Melbourne Airport unveils $4.5 billion international terminal expansion

You've got a massive expansion of parts of the airport, so they are definitely creating more potential lounge space. See the blue circle, and red circle for the new gates. Versus today from GMAps.

    High Speed Rail in Australia

Need Canberra, Wagga Wagga, Albury and Shepparton/ Benalla to become 1m + cities. Rail infrastructure is just hugely expensive. WSI Airport is $5-6bb WSI Metro is $12-13bn Just this Newcastle to Sydney section is now $90+bn. While it's probably the most complex geographically, it would still...
