    Qantas HY26 results

Capex doesn't immediately hit profit - it takes some time to flow into higher depreciation charges. Why looking at cashflow also matters, and the ratio of Capex to depreciation. But the flatlining in profits, some of the outlook discussion and impacts of SJSP legislation was definitely seen in...

Virgin Australia Boeing 737 Max 8

VARA is getting rid of 320s and F100s So in FY27 +5 Max8 offset by -2 737-800, -3 320, with the only growth from +2 E190s. A little more growth in this remaining half.

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

Well the VGN results published this morning don't seem to suggest any negative impact, or reversal of course. So maybe it's just the minority viewpoint being elevated in this thread.

Qantas unveils the biggest changes to status in program history

Would have said that was more a wet dream list. Personally as someone on 19k SC but lower work travel the new banked platinum doesn't really excite me - it's still a long way away. Arguably they might have made some of the early ones 5k and not backdated things.

Qantas swaps Upcoming Flight A330 for A321XLR

Could have been. The last two 332s (EBG, EBL) weren't updated until mid-2019. Pretty much all the other 332s and 333s were done in 2015 and 2016. Believe the delay was related to a lease extension issue. They weren't recliners either - just the angled flat SkyBed Is. You also would have had the...

Qantas swaps Upcoming Flight A330 for A321XLR

Discussed briefly in the QF results thread. Seems to commence on 25 Oct as a daily service rather than 5/wk. Agreed that I'd be rather peeved paying what QF charges and not getting a lie flat bed on the overnight.

    Qantas HY26 results

Not that much of a suprise. Profit has basically flat lined - no growth starts to hurt your P/E ratio. And obvious signs of cost increase hitting margins.

    QF Cabin Crew Singapore Base

Also a function of Aus Govt policy handing out air rights to almost everyone (other than Qatar). Suspect it's only the NZ, South Pacific, Indonesian, HK, South African and US markets where QF has 30+% market share. And Indonesia would change if they ever got their safety record right.

8hr narrowbody flight with only a recliner in J ? Better be cheap (or rebranded as PE) (Assuming the international XLRs are still sometime off given we haven't had an announcement about the J product) Seems to commence Sun 25 Oct. Y from $489 one-way, J is $2100+ ! (Still some errors - see...

    QF Cabin Crew Singapore Base

At least to Europe, Sunrise aircraft will avoid Singapore. And can only see one slot at LHR for a consolidated SIN-LHR. Maybe they might try and bank some other Euro flights using other feeder aircraft?

Would have thought earning an additional 8000SCs for LTP should also have been enticing.

    Qantas HY26 results

All the Finnair 333s are 2009/10 deliveries, quite a bit younger than QFs 333s which are late 2003- 2005. Picking up more may be an option if it suits QF and AY in the future.. but on the QF side has to be balanced by all the other new aircraft arriving. Aircraft possibly OH-LTN which...

    Qantas HY26 results

Good find. That would definitely make most sense - and QF could keep the same layout. From what I could find elsewhere the dry lease phase is 3-4 years, so stretching to late 2028/2029 for QPK and QPL.. which is also why the two dry-leased aircraft seemingly won't have Wifi (see that thread)

Qantas unveils the biggest changes to status in program history

Think it's every additional 10,000 SCs gives you a year of banked platinum.. up to 5 years which you'd get at 65,000.
