Qantas unveils the biggest changes to status in program history

"The" banked year? Perhaps most will only be able to get one banked year (me included), but the story is there's multiple years available/to be earned. The reality is the effort to earn is pretty much not worth it. I'll take *my* banked year of WP but the changes surely will do nothing to drive...

Qantas unveils the biggest changes to status in program history

I paused and thought. I've got one WP year banked from previous earn and will not see another in my lifetime ( And I'm only just post mid-life ). The changes offer nothing to me (as an LTG) aside from this one WP year.

Qantas unveils the biggest changes to status in program history

When someone's so stuck on they're P1, I don't think QF will worry too much. Those LTGs that just disappear off the face of the earth for QF seem to be a significant focus of these changes.

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

The Perth transit lounge is a disaster full stop. It's a dungeon with a skylight. When you're about to spend 16 hours on a plane, descending into the QF dungeon doesn't really enhance your feeling of well-being.

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Pitch never replaces width. QF 787 is 32Inch pitch and you can happily stretch your legs out. It's still miserable if 2 adults sit next to each other. QF MEL-PER-LHR was routinely available at around $1500 pre COVID (often one of the cheapest full service options). The airbus might attract a...

    Qantas PayID - Help!

I recently paid for a ticket with BPay which says it can take days. However, QF and bank indicated payment had been successfully processed, but QF held the booking until midnight anyway at which point it was ticketed.

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Agree, but you'd hope QF domestic J catering couldn't get any worse and is now well below what most expect of a domestic J product offering: the menu is woeful and you have a low probability of getting your choice anyway. It's clear it no longer supports the J price proposition, and hasn't for a...

It seems the catering has already gone, but J pax continue to pay for it until now.

    First time in Qantas lounge

Realistically it's the free booze if it's your thing. The terminal offerings are probably now a more pleasant option than the QC at peak times in both MEL and SYD. I too once aspired to the allure of the QC, but have now realised (30 years later, LTG, and a decade or more as WP) that $20 or $30...

QF 33 Sydney to Perth - Headphones in Business?

As my headphones don't have Bluetooth it's even easier!

QF 33 Sydney to Perth - Headphones in Business?

They are a closed design, and perhaps they may offer a little active noise cancelling, but QF's J headphones are not in the same league as probably any commercial NC headphones available and I certainly wouldn't ever rely on them for a long haul flight. I don't consider them to be noise...

Qantas Not Recognising BA Premium Economy

Given QFi hardly fly to anywhere in Europe they're just trying to disincentive you from flying on their "partners" that fly to the few destinations they actually go to.

Qantas Economy Plus Launching Feb 2026

If you don't choose your own seat, at some point QF will have to allocate the extra leg room seats for free when you check in. The 737 suffers the same fate as the QF (and nearly everyone else) 787 - extra pitch can't make up for the lack of width. OT, but I'd still be interested to...

Qantas Economy Plus Launching Feb 2026

I have a QF 1/2 booking as LTG and I only get aisle/window option. When login failed a couple of days ago it let me select seats (which I did and which seem to have stuck but it's back to only window aisle option. Depending how I access my booking it may show the seat selection or not. It seems...

The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

that's what I got on the website, but on a positive note, instead of telling me I couldn't select seats for my A380 flight which it has said since I made the booking, I now can.

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

And therein lies the paradox. What value does LTG offer if you're going to be flying J anyway?
