Qantas boosts international capacity, wet lease Finnair aircraft

I believe the two AY liveried aircraft are going back, so will just be the two dry leased aircraft.

    Jetstar reviewing Cabin Bag policy

I don't disagree. As mentioned you could fill it with gold bars and it would be very heavy. But it's a proxy, rather than taking three individual measurements, or picking it up, rotating it, placing it in a sizer. More the scale though.. maybe they were checking both measurements and weight.

    Qantas Sydney International Business Lounge

Interesting. At entrance? What paperwork were you given. And which MH flight, given 3x daily.

    Jetstar reviewing Cabin Bag policy

Id think weighing luggage is quicker than using the sizer. And that's why weight has typically been used, because it's a simple proxy for volume which is generally the real constraint. Most luggage is full of clothes so fairly consistent density, not many carrying feathers or gold bars.

How can AFF contribute towards relaxation of bilateral agreements between Australia and other countries?

I daresay Aus - Indonesia is also one of the few competitive country pairs (along with NZ) where the Aus carriers use more seats than the foreign carriers

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

And TPE-HKG is a 2hr flight. KUL-SIN is probably a better comparison.. While you might get something decent on SQ J, on MH J I got a cold vegetarian salad bread roll in plastic, and a cup of water. No alcohol served on short MH J flights.

    Qantas A330-200 cabin refurbishments

VH-EBS snuck out of BNE maintenance early this morning operating QF501 to SYD, and now off on QF67 to BLR. Given the lack of QFs usual press releases maybe no refurb..

    Western Sydney Airport (WSI) Discussion

Will be interesting to see what the parking charges are. At this point it looks like there will be a P1 and P2 at the airport itself, and I'm guessing a Long Term Parking at the Airport Business Park to the north with its own metro station.

    CSS / style sheet change?

@admin Did someone change something in the last hour. I'm seeing all links as underlined. Makes everything look a lot more cluttered. Should have added using - AFF Style

    Western Sydney Airport (WSI) Discussion

Think that talk appeared after the current government de-prioritised the under construction Metro West extension from Westmead to WSI. Personally think HSR beter going to Campbeltown then onto Canberra, with the Metro extended to Campbeltown. Airports need more turn up and go style transport...

    Western Sydney Airport (WSI) Discussion

Laughable.. the airport will average 1-2 flights an hour. Cath the train to St.Marys and get the express bus from there. A direct bus from Campbeltown (seemingly will be indirect) and Leppington maybe.

    Western Sydney Airport (WSI) Discussion

New WSI Airport website stating October 2026 opening. https://wsiairport.com.au/discover-wsi Sun 26 Oct is the start of IATA ticketing season so is a strong favourite. Video has this teaser which I think is the first time this side of (I assume) the domestic terminal has been shown. Parking...

    eSims, what is your experience.

Probably not favoured by SYD due to Hong Kong breakout (assume that's what he means by PRC as no-one would actually breakout in mainland given restrictions. But esim.dog (wacky name and url) has some very good launch pricing. Also offering VPN at $1.50/Wk on top.

    Qantas starts international wifi

Latest from ViaSat in their 3Q results (5 Feb 2026) Late summer would typically meant late August 2026 service entry, and I'm guessing an April launch with a similar 4-mth EIS as F2. Other calendars have pencilled in June. https://rocketlaunch.org/launch-schedule/spacex/falcon-heavy

SYD/SIN via KUL on MH connecting time

The terminal change will just be from the Satellite to the Main terminal which is a short train ride. KUL airport is like SIN with at gate security rather than separated arrivals and departures
