Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

MEL-CBR VA289 Dinner - beef short rib, quite nice. Cheese was way off. Strawberry polenta cake in a box was blergh. 1F had mushroom soup: You could have chicken on top if desired. Tasted OK. For such a short flight the service was good, however if you plan to eat make sure you're in row 1...

Domestic Single Aisle Premium Strategy at VA

That's a whole box of awesome, but with VA ditching the aircraft type we can only dream. Then again I'm still waiting for footrests in 737 J.

Economy X [Domestic free for Platinum] - May 2017

Re: Virgin, the modern day Robin Hood. Taking row 3 from platinums and giving it to a VA needs cash. Cold hard cash from passengers. I wonder what their next revenue-raising idea will be?

VA to HKG from Jul 5 2017, ex MEL

re: VA to HKG from mid 2017 [From Where?] I wonder how they will handle any IRROPS out of HKG? However this is a great step. I hope they can offer some decent catering in Y and have plenty of reward seats. Lounge access ex-MEL could be flaky, I suspect it will be T2 domestic before security...

Left Bose QuiteComfort 35 headphones on a Virgin Australia Brisbane to Sydney flight

Re: Left Bose QuiteComfort 35 headphones on a Virgin Australia Brisbane to Sydney fli Brown stuff happens. If you leave your headphones in the seat pocket of (say) row 7 and someone from row 15 follows you, they could just pick them up and keep walking. Please note that I don't think people...

    Poor customer care

That's about normal. Just write it off to an accident and move on. Any energy expended on this would be wasted.

    Business class and toilets

I don't. Classes exist for a reason and we're glad for it. We pay much much more in points/dollars to have a nice quiet flight experience where waiting is for other people, from check-in to collecting the bags at the destination. The last thing I want is some first-time flyer interrupting my G&T...

Signs of lost but not forgotten airlines

Total long shot - if you take the train between Brisbane and Caboolture, just before Carseldine on your right there is an auto wreckers. Inside you can/could see an old Bedford Ansett (with the last logo faded away) stair truck.

737 Economy seat power trial in Q2 2017

So when the dust settles in a few months they can quietly forget about it and save the money. Remember the trial of hot meals on the domestic triangle? Talk up a storm - then do 1% of it ... then wander off and forget.

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

VA823 MEL-SYD Breakfast. Bircher muesli, very nice. VA858 SYD-MEL, snack. Vietnamese tacos. Complete fail. Do not order this dish. Very acidic liquid in bottom of bowl prevents making a "taco" from stale, burnt soft quesadillas. With cheese and an Anzac biscuit. I think this service was...

Bonus Upgrade, Points and status credits

I wouldn't trust a VA computer as far as I could kick it, so just be prepared in case that charge comes through.

    Virgin Happy Hour [Thursdays]

You need to be fast, only a certain number of seats per flight will have the discounted price. Sometimes "Happy Hour" is for book first, think later trips [e.g. when those domestic J sectors went for $200 in 2012]

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Flew Air North to Toowoomba last week, had two beef lasagnas and several pinots. In economy. $0. Delicious. VA have really dropped the ball. Now let's get back to VA J meals.

Different Treatment as an Upgrade Customer

Nailed it. "Think up a BS excuse that sounds official so I don't have to do any work."

Bye Bye E-Jets :-( (and some ATRs)

Farewell E-Jet, how I loved your 2+2 seating. Glad we switched to Air North for MEL to WTB (beats BNE and driving).

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

A percentage of crew is just downright lazy or "all talk and no action". They shake your hand and smile when you sit down (creepy) - do the minimum then vanish ASAP for the rest of the flight, only to reappear and shake your hand as you deplane (double creepy). I think "making a moment for each...
