    Gifts for cabin crew

OT but I heard that for Halloween, many years ago, it was normal to hand out home baked treats like cupcakes, brownies and the like. Then someone put pins in them.

    Gifts for cabin crew

Hardly. If anything it demonstrates that gifting should be done at the end of a flight. Also, it's not an allegation. It's straight up levelling an accusation. And it's reasonable to do so if you've received something that others have not.

So, what music are you listening to now?

Watching "Weeds" on Netflix and the soundtrack is terrific. It's a decade or two old. A song called "Most Wanted" by Cults caught my attention. It's easy to find on Youtube but here's a link anyway. Don't let the Weeds reference misguide you - it's about heroi_. I've spent most of the day...

Of course there was dilemma when asked if they had anything flammable.

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

Travelling CBR-MEL last week, I left a Leatherman in my carry on and had to trudge back to check it in. Luckily I had a tote bag in my carry on too and thankfully had room to move in my WP baggage allowance. I've made this mistake before, once, at ROK and they fetched my checked in bag so I...

    Gifts for cabin crew

There's literally 17 pages discussing this. TL;DR? Allow me to summarise: It is widely suggested gifting creates an obligation or an awkwardness for the crew and it is speculated that gifting is done to receive, or hope to receive, preferential treatment. Gifters, however, do not see it...

Me&u - another quality Velocity partner

I got only 100 points despite using the link I received in February as quoted above. Feeling very measly.

Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I see todays SB discount is a mere 12% capped at $20. Given the relatively high prices at BWS to begin with, this isn't likely to yield much. Wondering what the reason/s for the reduction may be. My guess is that's related to number of orders <$100 they get on discount day.

You only need to give them to those that can respond in kind.

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

BNE has or had a little notepad colour-coded ticket next to the elevators that indicated what level you parked on. I would write on the row too. And then hoped I didn't lose the ticket.

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

If that was of any concern to them, they'd remove all high value GCs and the pre-paid visa/mastercards from the shelves altogether, especially the $1000 ones from Officeworks, rather than just randomly hand out a flyer or limit them to five per account per day (my family has just four accounts)...

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

No longer than 15mins at a guess. The receipt was nearly 1m long. With hindsight, I could have saved some time if I'd prepared by opening and scratching off the silver panels beforehand. I went in not long before closing on a Saturday hoping that it would be 'quiet' but no idea, nor a lot of...

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

A few contentious and biased comments in there Poochie. Just yesterday, I split my bill at Coles across 6 cards and three payment types: a e-gift card, a credit card and four pre-paid credit/eftpos cards. A week ago, I paid $1200 at Office works using 18 x $50 third-party GCs, 1 x $e-gift...

    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

Last week I was offered 4000pts for $200 spend. Activated it but didn't complete. A bridge too far relative current multi-week spends with much lower spends at both Woolies and Coles. This week it's 1700 points for $200 spend. Feels like I'm being punished or they're playing a very different...

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

Most? Maybe I need to get out more, but I've never had an issue with tossing down a few cards and asking them to spread the cost evenly. Separate bills on the other hand..... "I only had an entre sized meal, desert and didn't drink any of the wine" Back OT, I was at Manly Wharf last weekend...

    AMEX rejection

I think we can all be sure that the reason for Dr Ralph's rejection, even if it hasn't been specifically acknowledged by Amex, is the number of credit hits from other providers. In relation to receiving or earning sign-up points, Amex have put time limits in place for "new" applications which...

Amazed that they even got going. It's funny because it's true.

    AMEX rejection

No-one else misses out if Dr Ralph gets or does not get another Amex card so your analogy isn't particularly apt. You must not be one who has multiple Flybuys or EDR accounts, or signs up to or changes energy or internet or health insurance providers whenever there's a better deal elsewhere...

    Coles gift card offers

I loaded a partially used yellow $250 Coles Mastercard GC into my Paypal and made it my "preferred" card. A one-off payment to Amaysim and a recurring payment to SMH subscription ended up being charged to an Amex card also held on file. I'm not a gambler so this randomness is somewhat annoying.

Australian Dual Citizens Entering UK after February

I'm not affected by this issue but I do love it when life imitates art. This is spectacularly accurate and hilariously British.
