Air Asia is back and looking to add A220s

AirAsia talk big on fleet but never actually deliver. They had 100 A339s on order, that never eventuated. Continued to push back other deliveries also. I agree that the A330s have been a financial drain on the carrier and should go, XLR should plug that gap nicely whilst ceding some longer...

    Melbourne Passenger Capacity Issues

I can only imagine the queues for taxi and rideshare on that filthy sidewalk, welcome to Melbs! I was walking down that way last week, it’s just filthy down kerbside. Rubbish everywhere, dirty floors, and then the touting. Sydney to Melbourne looks fairly sold out tomorrow, cheapest fare is on...

Velocity E Store 1,000 bonus points for $50+ Shop

Chemist Warehouse click and collect is one of the easiest way to rack up points. That’s IF I can actually navigate through velocity without getting server errors, login errors. Platforms are just useless. Verified my phone number just now for login ‘sever error’. Previously I would get error...

    Qantas' New A321XLR

This one should be the next tranche which are 3xY seats less with a third loo now installed! 😂

    VA's Audience Demographic

Any word on the AFL contract? That ended in December and have not seen much in the way of renewal yet. It was out for tender last year and QF was chasing it according to some reporters. Expecting to hear to won that contract in the coming weeks.

    VA's Audience Demographic

I use JQ for some of the more unique flight that the others don’t, like AVV, OOL-CNS, those sort of routes they have to themselves. On the occasion ie last minute when fares are pricey and there is a big difference, I will fly them. Jetstar are terrible on MEL-SYD and SYD-BNE for cancellations...

    VA's Audience Demographic

They say small business, but they would still have eyes on those larger contracts. Bigger corporates are looking for savings, Virgin might offer a better deal. My previous employer (top ASX) pushed most travel to VA a few years ago. The seem to be after the value customer, those who don’t want...

Jetstar to fly to Singapore, Bangkok & coughet from Perth in 2024

I agree. Dump the Jetstar PER-SIN which is now just a token frequency and run double daily XLR Lie Flats. The low cost traffic on SIN routes will simply stick with Scoot. Jetstar need to concede defeat in Singapore and put its resources elsewhere. DPS-SIN is the only route they should hold.

Jetstar to fly to Singapore, Bangkok & coughet from Perth in 2024

PER-MNL seem to be performing a bit softer. I recall HKT was popular on Virgin way back in the day also, was a 737 from Perth I think. I wonder if a route like Kota Kinabalu, Da Nang, Lombok would work? Perhaps the 320Neo.

    Western Sydney Airport (WSI) Discussion

Is some reports out there that seem to think that. I was reading something that by xx year they intend to overtake Mascot and the end result was WSI flying the bulk of the traffic and Mascot the scraps. I will try to find it. I think it’s just madness but that’s just me. Unless WSI can get...

Awful VA crew between Kalgoorlie and Perth

I would expect a more detailed complaint like this to go through to Cabin Crew Management and the said person subject to a chat etc. No idea how the Management structure works with cabin crew, I assume each major base has a Management structure that people report to?

QantasLink acquires 6 more A320s to based in PER due to surge in demand

About time. With VA putting mainline 737s on most mining routes alongside the E190s, the Network Offer is pretty coughpy in comparison. Likely at risk of losing contracts to VA due to the rubbish product. Sounds like the new seat will be an off the shelf basic seat, not the same as seen in the...

Jetstar to fly to Singapore, Bangkok & coughet from Perth in 2024

I think QF A321s are likely on PER-SIN/India. In terms of Bali, perhaps from Sydney only and they might be able to scale up frequency if they pull the 330 off it. PER-DPS is a bloodbath though, I think even Virgin attempting to enter the route previously was questionable. TransNusa have come...

    Qantas flights to Palau

Looks like storms across SEQ on each TAF so might be a fuel and alternate issue if they are using MCY or OOL. Not that great in Sydney either or further up the QLD coast. Melbourne looks good though 😂 Might be some interesting diversions later on today.

Been there done that. The land of the snakes and backstabbers, and weird weird people.

Awful VA crew between Kalgoorlie and Perth

Might have been an employee he moved. I’ve see this before. I don’t think moving friends into the J Cabin would sit well with Management. Something I’ve noted at many airlines, if other crew especially are travelling on a flight, be it for repositioning or leisure, the crew get distracted and...

Taken 3 General Qantas Lounge Passes - Expiry 01.07.2026

Hey, would love to be considered, I have actually never been into a QF Lounge, and currently hold no status with either major carriers due to minimal travel, so would be a welcome surprise on trip to Sydney in June. About to change careers with a hefty pay cut, so this would give me something to...

Qantas A380 reliability issues creeping up again?

Well it’s costing them revenue, my old folks who travel international probably twice a year in cash paid premium cabins, who only flew QF, no longer do because I’ve told them the reliability is rubbish. When I was booking for them last month they sort of didn’t believe me, I pulled up the Flight...
