I ended up booking using Asia Miles, called them up and put 2 seats on hold. Transferred some points across from AMEX. cost 100,000 asia miles points which is the same redemption rate for Qantas which were gonna charge me 172,000 points. Different of 72,000 points for the same flight!

Damnnn I tried to make a booking at midnight last night for a JAL ticket. Points hadn't increased but i had some difficulties checking out and fell asleep. Just checked now and its gone up! :(

ive just used qantas points to redeem biz class tickets with China Airlines for CNY. Their A350 products are great and availability is good. Economy is also very good on the A350 with them too.

Thank you as always pjm99au - appeared to look ok on qantas. There are no reward seats available, but it did let me book 9 business class tickets. Would have rather liked to book reward biz seats. I'll take my chances and pay for economy seats in the hopes for an upgrade.

Not sure, I just checked my itinerary. TPE ->CTS was Q Class and CTS->TPE was V class. Not sure why the boarding pass shows it as Y class. Might be worthwhile asking when checking in.
