SMS rx : You still have a Qantas COVID travel credit....

seems I DO have a travel credit. I really though it was refunded previously. It's from a flight originally booked Feb 2020. I am now advised I can use it for bookings for myself, a family member, anyone, a hotel or an upgrade. A long way from the original "a fare of equal or higher value"...

SMS rx : You still have a Qantas COVID travel credit....

well I know I certainly 'did' but today I received an SMS telling me I still do. I'm currently 57th n the queue of all you people trying to claim these phantom credits. Oh dear me, someone needs better criteria before firing off all those SMS. (48th in the queue now.)

ATO Reasonable Travel Allowance as a business owner

Good question. My question is that if I (as a pty ltd company) pays the reasonable travel allowance and me as the employee accepts that then I am aiming to : like point 44 of the ruling: If Albatross’s travel allowance for meals and incidentals were not shown on his payment summary and he fully...

ATO Reasonable Travel Allowance as a business owner

As a business owner for determining my travel allowance I have been using the annual version of the ATO ruling tax determination : what are the reasonable travel and overtime meal allowance expense amounts for the 2023–24 income year? I thought it might be a good idea to put my assumptions on...

Farewell Avis - They "Try it On" Too much!

so you weren't surprised by my post then. BTW I also did hear from the branch manager. Not sure if I mentioned that earlier. Seems the negative customer surveys are getting through.

Farewell Avis - They "Try it On" Too much!

What is the incentive for car hire companies not to 'try it on' by adding additional charges. Today, after returning the vehicle with a full tank they added the fuel surcharge to my bill. Of course, all apologetic but what really is the incentive for them to be honest? My second rental was in...

    Now that's an airspeed indicator

Although I heard part of the secret "flood the engine, 4 turns backwards, one forward, switches on, two more forward" I was so far only allowed to be the one to add a notch of throttle to make it run smoother. It's all about one's attitude.

    Now that's an airspeed indicator

My first open coughpit flight over the weekend. This wing mounted airspeed indicator took a little bit to get the hang of.

Choice Fares - No more free changes > 14 days [Bookings from 1st Sep]

Why do airlines even charge change fees. Like if we are changing a fare 300 days out from Day X to Day X+2 they still charge yet they are really doing nothing as far as arranging that flight and get zero inconvenience.

YVR transit, possible to go the city for brunch?

I'll soon be embarking on a journey from BNE to LAS with a layover at YVR.6.5 hr My flight will arrive at YVR at 06:50 AM, and the LAS flight departs at 1:20 PM. In terms of timing, I have plenty of time to catch a train to the city and enjoy brunch in the Gasworks area. However, I'm unsure...

Sri Lanka 2023-Back in Lucky's Country

Thanks for posting this TR. Certainly contrasts to the south. We travelled with Lucky previously. I can sense that Chicken and Rice might still be a diet staple.

The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

From this we know that there are redundant sources of seat data presumably to make app/web responses faster or to reduce network traffic. So which would be the system of truth?

    Cancellation Paterns

There is also 'cancelled' with a days notice and 'cancelled' at the last minute. I think FlightAware will log each as the same 'cancelled' without reference to the actual customer experience on the day. Last August in Bali I was tracking those 787s and regular cancellations/delays. On the day...
