    Scams like these

Great doctor, and the practice had no issues with my not agreeing to hotdocs having my medical history. I don't think I was the 1st. Agee individual dr practice is probably less technically secure, but on a population basis (eg Medibank size) less likely that your personal info will be misused imo.

    Scams like these

If you've never given them your med history fine (unless your siblings have); but I booked appointment at a new practice just last week (phoned the practice). Soon after I received a text from hotdocs stating I "need" to fill out their form (requiring of course agreeing to their terms of use and...

    Scams like these

Yet another reason not to get involved with Hotdocs; if you've never used them then you can't be fooled. The other being that hotdocs wants to keep so much personal information about you, and your parents, and your siblings, that they are an obvious target commercial company to be hacked.

Have you topped up a UK pension to cover gaps?

Seperate department makes sense; unfortunately the confusing letter advising "Voluntary Class 3 National Insurance contributions due " and requesting £1648.40 simply states "Arrears due prior to 5/10/25”. Edit: looking for whole numbers, I find £1648.4 ÷ £15.85 (class 3 weekly rate in 22/23) =...

I see, and can only go back to 2006?. MrsB had stopped working by then (she married well I say🤣)

Have you topped up a UK pension to cover gaps?

Got letters today..."Thank you for applying to pay voluntary Class 3". Forgot to ask for Class 2 if eligible, but don't think we are anyway as 6 months break in leaving uk employment and commencing au employment. Don't understand the figures, or payment. The 1st letter request £1648 for...

Solar Panel, Power & Battery Discussion

Good question. Looking up my last 3 monthly bills when inverter was working, x 4 = 2324kW. Then x 49c (thought it was 48 but no) = $1138. Clearly I'm often not at home. Plus of course usage... I like free air-conditioning in Brisbane! Much more than I imagined from a small system.

Solar Panel, Power & Battery Discussion

To retain my extravagant FiT I can't increase the inverter size, so <3kw (if I dumped the system and FiT, and replaced with even a 4 x size I still wouldn't be better off). The extravagant FiT (44c qld gov + 4 c distributor) expires in 2½ years. Searching hybrid options they all seem to be too...

Have you topped up a UK pension to cover gaps?

"This change comes into effect on 6 April 2026" We've had the phone call and submitted the form, waiting for a reply as to what years, and class, we can top-up. Probably arrive 7 April.

Have you topped up a UK pension to cover gaps?

I thought that there was a min of 3 years but can't find it now, maybe it's in the application for a pension. Min to be able to top-up I think is >2years, not 3 complete years.

Have you topped up a UK pension to cover gaps?

I gather that you might be able catch-up to have >10 NI years and still not be eligible for a uk pension when reaching 66+ if you don't meet other requirements, like I think there's minimum number of years having resided in uk?

Solar Panel, Power & Battery Discussion

Replaced my panels in Brisbane last year, and now looks like my inverter (SMA 2500) has carked it. I'm on the grandfathered 44c fit (until 1/7/28) which is very worthwhile keeping (so can't upsize) as I'm not home there much.

    Got scammed mycard(citi)

I feel very sad for you, but I think you did quite well to get back ½. NAB could have been more helpful, but I think some other banks would have offered nothing. I don't understand the original fraud process... I charged >$10k onto my citi/mtcard last week, an over the phone purchase, and...

Upper age limits on travel insurance - family member illness/death

So this coverage doesn't exclude events resulting from "pre-existing" medical conditions? Very limited if so.

Solar Panel, Power & Battery Discussion

When Bowen's proposed "free"(no such thing, it's cost shifting) electricity between 12:00-15:00 comes in, the benefit of panels will only be before 12 and after 3, but same capital cost. Interesting to see if it affects new household solar uptake. Maybe just buy batteries and charge them 12 to 3...
