    Virgin FY25 results

So the so-called enhancements to the frequent flyer program actually did upped the budget bottom line for Virgin Australia instead of destroying them. I suppose that's because the travel demand is so huge that the two airlines are riding the wave now.

China Southern increases flights to Australia

The flight left Darwin way early and does not connect with Qantas services. Should it become a morning departure ex-CAN I believe and add Qantas Codeshare this could be attractive.

New Qantas promos including double status credits (book by 3/9/25; travel 4/9/25 until 22/8/26)

As this round of DSC does not contribute to Lifetime Status, and 150 SC would have been enough to retain Platinum, I wonder if anyone would switch to double points instead? I think for this time, I will choose Double Points and make minimal booking, as it doesn't count towards Platinum Bonus...

    Qantas FY25 results

Isn't this is not allowed on Qantas flights?

    Qantas' New A321XLR

I hope so, in particular the early morning departure to DPS desperately needed to convert to A321XLR, so that at least I can fly Business Class to Bali and change for Hong Kong, Singapore or Malaysia. Also this might mean flights ex-CNS to Japan may become an A321XLR feature?

Lounge access at HKG on Hong Kong Airlines transit ticket ex-SYD/MEL

Effective immediately until March 2026, all passengers flying ex-SYD/MEL and transit via HKG will be eligible for lounge access regardless of class of travel. Conditions apply. Why fly Jetstar to Japan when Hong Kong Airlines includes meals, checked baggage and lounge access and is also...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Which routes do they serve Garlic bread on Economy? Next time I should have asked to give me the Economy Garlic Bread to me!

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

May I ask why Qantas is reluctant to offer Garlic bread as an option in its bakery? I found sourdough is very chewy and difficult to eat on a flight. I suppose garlic bread is very popular for Asian customers and this would have an improvement to its inflight offerings.

    “new” QF B737-800s

I suppose his bet maybe correct where now Jetstar is the biggest revenue driver of Qantas Group. Yet he has left the premium flyers behind. Why would we wanted to fly Jetstar when Business Class is not available? I think if the Boeing 737 would have its interior refitted, it would be the same...

    New Cathay Pacific 777-300ER interior

So it appears to me that they are moving the Aria suite B77Ws to CX100/101 instead of CX161/162. This would be an improvement as it will allow Australians a more consistent journey to go back to where they come from (the UK) on Aria Suite for the entire journey.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

I suspect this is the likely case with FY results out on 28th August they might have route announcements for the A321XLRs. I do hope there will be more orders coming soon.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

I really hope this is soon and available by the end of the year. I am sure international students would love this service out of CBR to SIN, as changing at Changi would bring great convenience for Chinese international students at ANU.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

VH-OGB has arrived BNE as QF6045 an hour ago. I hope A321XLR can roll out into service soon.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

VH-OGB is currently en route to Bangkok/BKK and is rumoured to arrive in Australia by Monday morning as QF6041. Not sure which port will this plane arrive, but likely will be in time for results announcement on Thursday this week.

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

I am disappointed that other premium ports in Asia such as HKG and HND are not getting these 4 class A350s. Surely the demand for premium cabins on those routes should have been high.

Qantas PER-SIN schedule change 26 Oct

I am disappointed that SYD departures cannot go beyond 2300 from SIN, which means less choice for late night arrival into Singapore and then change for SYD service. Also, I suggest the early departure to SYD is not helping with jetlag neither...

Qantas PER-SIN schedule change 26 Oct

The new QF71 schedule actually provided East Coast residents a much needed early arrival into Singapore. QF71 now arrives SIN at 1555, and it allows connection to CX716 instead of the 8pm departure to HKG. Those in East Coast can hop on the 6am departure ex-SYD, then connect with QF71 and will...

    Jetlag minimisation/avoidance strategies

Sorry to revive this topic, but every time when I am flying into Australia, I just been suffering from severe jetlag that takes 1 - 2 days to recover, and I am talking a short flight like Singapore - Sydney. As Qantas only offers overnight service and I am unable to switch to other airlines, is...

    Western Sydney Airport (WSI) Discussion

The Australian reported WSI is struggling to sign up new airlines to use them: https://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/aviation/western-sydney-airport-no-airlines-signed-despite-53bn-investment/news-story/47c0802b56f75ec5d8e38bc57a41320c I doubt if there's many regular travel demands are...
