Aquire 50% extra Status Credits and double Aquire points offer

Not all ABN holders are registered for GST (I'm not, it's a side business that makes very very little). I'm sure they'll be ensuring i'm declaring income in my regular tax return now though :)

Aquire 50% extra Status Credits and double Aquire points offer

They've always insisted you have a legitimate reason to have an ABN. People who get ABN's for discounts on trade or Aquire type deals alone, should not have an ABN. I got pulled up last year as well as my ABN had been inactive. A link to a website, a copy of my business card and an invoice to a...

What's the cheapest Qantas product I can buy (of any kind)?

I don't believe so. It's quite specific merchant accounts that enable the free flight. I once claimed an award and paid for a Carbon Offset, which did not activate it (offset the carbon after the ticket was issued, not at time of purchase).

    Someone's in my seat

Unless it's a recent policy change, it isn't correct. Non-uniformed staff in The Village just wear what they'd wear to the office. They do need their ASIC with them though.

    ID checks for domestic pax?

I blame Jack Bauer (and all LOTFAP TV for that matter) ;)

    Goodbye Qantas

On heavily trafficked routes, such as the triangle and SYD-CBR and vv, would it not simply be easier to buy a ticket on the way to the airport? That way you're getting lowest fare (rather than buying what turns out to be an inflexible flexi, and worst case, you're buying a flexi in that...

    AA's SYD-LAX flight

I have a seat in the mini cabin for my next flight, so i'll report back depending on when you're taking it :)

Chauffeur drive on Business (U) booking Sydney-London?

but only if on an 081 (QF) or 176 (EK) issued ticket. If you're on an AA Award, you're SOOL (as I found out).

Spirits Spotted at the VA Lounge SYD

They started with Gordons Gin, they didn't have far to fall ;)

Upgrade question, (forgive a new AFF member)

You can pay cash for an upgrade at the airport from the sales desk (should be near checkin somewhere). You'll need to pay a change fee, most likely an assistance fee plus any fare difference. You'll likely be up for $140 in fees ($60 plus $80 I think it is). Points upgrades are available from...

    VA & BP big announcment?

"if you buy fuel and things in store, you will get bonus points on only the fuel component, whilst the in store things will be 2 points per dollar spent" It's not well worded.

    VA & BP big announcment?

I fill up on average around 1.5 times per month. Small car, decent sized tank, low miles. Guess i'll be making 2 1/4 tank fills, a 1/2 tank fill and then a full tank this month ;) (I didn't get a 5th refill bonus, just triple on third and quad on 4th)

Wouldn't it be cool to share our points around

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/237052 And apparently VA are cracking down on this too. Family Transfers are exactly that. Points transfers between eligible family members. AFF also prohibits offering points for sale/trade as it violates the Frequent Flyer programs T&C's too.

How to get to Europe on 600,000 QANTAS points

It's enough, but trying to find 4 x award seats on flights that suited may be a major undertaking (and the fuel fines/fees may make it prohibitively expensive). Economy award redemptions are seldom a good use of points (there are notable exceptions, but they don't apply here).

    Half a million points ...

VA have announced a pretty large de-valuation of the points on EY coming up from June. Best get onto those bookings ASAP ;)

How to get to Europe on 600,000 QANTAS points

It's a shame you can't be more creative as 280k is a Oneworld 'rtw' fare, which is one of the best uses of points. You could try for 4 x Economy tickets, but it's a very poor use of points typically (high taxes, low value on the burned points). 2 x Business (on points) and 2 x Economy (paid...

    Someone's in my seat

I was on a JQ flight MEL-SYD on the A330 once in "Star Class" as it was known back then. Allocated myself second row, aisle (as the cabin was empty bar one or two others) and figured 'well i'll have two seats to myself'. As the last of the pax drifted onboard, a man says 'excuse me i'm there'...

    New Flagship Lounges

When QF departed from T4 (do the BNE flights still depart from there?) the lounge would fill up in the evenings and be heaving (to the point of struggling to find anywhere to sit). Still, it's a nicer place to be than the regular AC. ORD has one of the better buffet options out of the current...
