SkyTeam Status Match - ITA Airways

I think you'll be fortunate if ITA matches translate into Frequent Traveller status (Star Silver). I suspect that half of China has ITA status at this stage.

SkyTeam Status Match - ITA Airways

Check how many airlines are honouring ITA status. ;-) Not very "Skyteam" if you ask me.

SkyTeam Status Match - ITA Airways

Why not match to Vietnam Airlines instead? https://enews.vietnamairlines.com/2024/08/vietnam-airlines-launches-its-status-match-program/

Malaysia Digital Arrival Card and Autogates

June-ish sometime they added extra signage. If you arrive into KLIA1 at the wrong time of day.... it's like 2015 all over again. Insanely long lines -- even for automated gates. I waited 60mins+ last time. KUL is fast transforming into one of those airports (like BKK), where you don't want to...

Malaysia Digital Arrival Card and Autogates

The auto gates say "Malaysian Only", but in reality they work for any of the epassport countries. The signage was put in place after a few highly influential locals complained that Malaysians had no special treatment at airports. If you find yourself in a long queue and there are available...

SkyTeam Status Match - ITA Airways

Anyone thinking of doing this match - note that while ITA is a 'Skyteam member', they don't have bilateral agreements with them. What this means is that you may not get any elite status benefits like free bags, seat selection, or lounge access if ITA does not agree with the airline. So, if you...

Family of 5, are points and rewards still worth pursuing? particularly if using platforms like pay.com.au?

A couple of observations as someone who travels in biz with the wife/kids. - If you were never going to buy a biz/first class ticket for cash then there is no saving to be had. You were going to fly economy and are now paying more for biz.... therefore you're still spending more = not a saving...

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

I expect points bookings not to get any of the bells and whistles. Think about it - if you are paying $20k and the dude next to you is there because he got a signup bonus from a credit card... these are wildly different customer profiles. Points customers are basically there to fill a seat...

Etihad Guest status match for Australian residents [improved offer as of 22/11/24]

Velocity members are ineligible to match to Etihad as they are partners. That makes it easy for you.

    Malaysia Airlines Brisbane Service

My favourite is "Sir, would you like a hot towel?" Crew proceeds to hand a freezing cold towel.

    Malaysia Airlines Brisbane Service

I've probably flown MH more than most people and more than most KUL-BNE-KUL. My experience is that MH feels like an average Government-run airline. Nothing is great. Nothing is terrible. On average, you should expect more things to go wrong than if you were to fly most other airlines. When...

Etihad Guest status match for Australian residents [improved offer as of 22/11/24]

The offer is currently 'ever green', and likely will be available for Nov/Dec.

Invited for Bid Now on MEL-SIN economy sale ticket

What a strange way to sell upgrade bids, a discount on the minimum bid, making you think they're doing you a favour. QF implies that their upgrade pricing is too high and that you should be thankful. The reality is that very few people ever win with the minimum bid, and it's to suck you into...

oneworld alliance serves up 25th anniversary coughtail

Weird eh? Next thing you know QF won't allow oneworld elites into some lounges, and will begin partnering en mass with Skyteam carriers.... it's almost as if... oh wait... nevermind.

Article: Qantas Pleased with Classic Plus Uptake

I won't go into detail on a public forum but I believe QF when they say they are releasing more award seats than ever before. The reason you can't find those seats is a combination of: - Increased organic demand for award seats - Mileage brokers - Bots - Global economy - Unlimited miles...

Malaysia Airlines - Can't input QFF number

It's not a cyber attack. It's a coordinated ring of scammers that has affected several airlines for some time. Wait a few days and the MH website will let you update the FF#, or do it at check-in. This is NOT MH-specific. Many larger and better known airlines affected as well. MH just handles...

Abu Dhabi Terminal A - Etihad and other lounges

F lounge is a quiet space. If you walk right through the lounge to the back there are some sorta-kinda-semi private chairs with ottomans that I've seen people sleep on. If you're in AUH for more than 6 hours and need a bed - I'd book a hotel.

Abu Dhabi Terminal A - Etihad and other lounges

I've been through AUH a dozen times over the past year. New terminal feels nice and new, and if you have access to F check-in/F-Lounge, then things are great. No queues, no waiting. Without access to F facilities...I'd probably fly another airline.
