Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

Ah, so cash might be useful after all. I never have any in my wallet, but that might change.

New "Airline Fuel fee" on some Qatar redemptions via Velocity

Well, Glen. as a MP 2MM I do think your assertion that you got upgraded on every flight might be a little contentious, but if that happened, good for you. But I do agree than the new American styled Velocity might hit a few headwinds in Australia.

Turkish or Emirates into Europe from Bali

OK, I understand. Wasting my keyboard fingers. Won't happen again!

    Indonesian Visa Discussion (Including Bali)

Yes, I.m sure it was all thoroughly tested before release. The only answer can be user error. At least that was the answer when I was an IT Director.

Garuda Indonesia DPS International & Domestic flight

Do you mean far left as you exit the terminal? I imagine you do.

Transiting SYD on Domestic to International Connection

And also screwed up VA, with QR purchasing a controlling interest. Qantas has a lot to answer for here, but of course, will sail blythley by.

Turkish or Emirates into Europe from Bali

If flying Y I'd look closely at the aircraft type you'd be flying on. If the 380, I'd prefer EK, but if the 777 I'd go with TK. 3-4-3 isn't my idea of comfort on a 777. The TK 350 would be nicer IMO. If flyng J, I'd only ever fly EK if it were a 380. The TK J product isn't the greatest by any...

Public Transport to our airports - what's cheapest?

Perhaps the ACT didn't need a second stage of light rail. and then this nonsense mightn't happen. It's not as if there was a problem with the transport arrangements across the bridge and onwards anyway. But I live in the ACT and know the politics and then see my rates bill.

New "Airline Fuel fee" on some Qatar redemptions via Velocity

Yes, I agree, but my comments on QR are still relevant I think. IMO, they have zero interest in VA or its pax, other than screwing the max dollars out of them. Just a one way street.

Public Transport to our airports - what's cheapest?

The fare increase doesn't bother me (I'm 70 ish) but the timetable changes seem rather savage, for someone living in outer Belconnen. Just cost saving I guess (not surprised seeing all those empty buses driving around). Not to mention the Out of Service buses, which seem to outnumber the in...

New "Airline Fuel fee" on some Qatar redemptions via Velocity

I always thought that QR owning 25% (or watever it is) would be a bad thing. From this sort of nonsense to excluding many partners such as EY. QR is milking it for all it's worth. Perhaps Katherinw King was right after all (that's hard to imagine, but....).

    Good BWS offers

Not me, in the ACT. But I do get a similar "discount" with shopback and topcashback from time to time.

    Wine Glasses, Decanters etc

I currently have 32 credits and want the 2 red wine glasses for 36. However, I have an order being delivered tomorrow, so that should increase the number to 36+ So I guess I'll drive down to the nearest Coles on Friday in the 40 degree heat and claim my glasses.

Have you accidentally booked the wrong flight?

Yes indeed. I'm always a bit paranoid when booking a connecting flight to a long haul flight arriving the day after the day of departure.

Travel discounts Over sixty years of age in UK for non UK residents

That's why I've never done it. Too much of a hassle. With a Railcard you can get many of the benefits.

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

It's not how BA did it. I guess it may well depend on the feedback from VA's brave changes to Velocity.

Public Transport to our airports - what's cheapest?

From where to where? I expect SYD, CBR and ADL could give that a run for its money as far a public transport to/from the airport is concerned.

Australia to Europe from $684 return

Yes, that's the only situation I will book with an OLTA. Close in.
