Understand and agree- I don't want to be a PITA but equally I'm not going to wait for hours to get service on a long haul flight. I can't recall a time where I have rang the bell in anything other than long-haul flights- maybe where I needed something for my son.

I flew a 17 hour flight from Seattle to Singapore last week - I definitely rang the call bell a few times during that period to get drinks throughout the flight - especially as the majority of it was lights off with the crew not moving through the cabin.

Completely agree. We did and still do this with MasterC who is nearly 9. Obviously one needs to factor in age differences but even explaining take off and landing requirements is useful (seat belt on and need to remain seated). Lots of little things we do not think about/forget as adults that...
