The Marriott bonus is great for me - I have a specific redemption in mind for the Christmas/New Year peak period - so need all the points I can get my hands on! I'm just hoping there will also be a points purchase bonus this month too.

I did a transfer yesterday morning (2:1 rate) and the points showing in KrisFlyer this morning. Still showing 2:1 transfer in the St George portal this morning.

Just to add another data point, I also got my bonus points this month, the first statement after hitting spend requirement.

So the code on the boarding passes I have is QFFP for the ticket I got 3K to 're-confirm' would earn SC and points and the one in dispute instead said TIA. I still have the vouchers, may try and use them in the future but don't have specific plans for them as I wasn't expecting them.

Just to close out my earlier post - I submitted the claim on line via the QFF portal and received the SCs and points within a few days (no need to provide boarding pass or anything else).

Just another data point - the Gentleman has PC and MasterC does not (working on that - a different story) - took a classic award flight earlier this month - the flight was an eligible flight for the Gentleman but not for MasterC.

I was in the lounge last night. Arrived around 6pm and it wasn't too busy. Starting filling up but certainly wasn't at capacity (unless they want to ensure a 'spacious' feel). Was quite impressed with it although I would prefer a few more western items on the menu.

Adding to others experience, have also had this happen to me. The Jetstar agents I have corresponded with have outright lied about it to me. As noted by others, you can't include your QFF number on booking unless you select getting QF points as your 'reward.' Good to know others have had success...

No rain here in Nusa Dua today - a bit overcast and windy though. Weather is pretty good right now - apparently it was quite wet last week so hopefully the good weather holds for you.

Will see the New Year commence in the USA. A long weekend planned in March in the Gold Coast. The major holiday will be to Africa in September/October school holidays. Hoping to get to South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and maybe Botswana, time and money depending.

I love the Riverwalk in San Antonio- such a nice way to get around. The heat must have been something else! We were there over New Years and managed a day in shorts and a t-shirt!

SYD-SIN SQ242 6pm departure The crab salad was delicious- I ate it without the salsa. Then I had BTC Beef with peppercorn sauce - not bad but beef overcooked to my taste. The apple pie dessert was so delicious I forgot to take a photo.

Neil deGrasse Tyson in both the MEL QF J lounge and sitting behind us on the flight to Sydney. I didn't recognise him but he happened to chat briefly on disembarking with the Gentleman, who did recognise him.

The salad was quite reasonable- the apple gave it a good crunch. A bit light on the chicken though.

MEL-SYD lunchtime options Chicken Waldorf salad, chicken and corn soup or a veal ravioli with kale and mushrooms sauce. The pasta looked very dry and unappetizing.
