Air NZ Experience as Velocity Platinum

I would not have done that. I don't believe you will earn anything in Airpoints due to the unilateral nature of this arrangement and the VA flight number. You hopefully got this fixed (VA number added) at check in.

    Samsung Wallet (Samsung Pay) issues

I have a repeated issue (currently on S25 Ultra, but also on my previous S23 Ultra)...where only my American Express card (I have a few others) in Samsung Wallet goes into a state where it is "Temporarily Unavailable - Connect to a Wi-Fi or mobile network to use this card"...which is in fact...

VA vs. QF - total package differences?

No you don't. You can still fly to Europe or SQ on NH and earn status credits...nothing that is happening with QR changes that. And with VA you pretty much know you're going to earn...there are no paid fare classes that are excluded from earn that you have to go and cross reference against some...

    Velocity status on Singapore Airlines

There is security screening at the gate for all flights at SIN T1,2,3...that is where they do security, not at a centralised point. However yes, the secondary security screening is Australian government regulation. Surprised you haven't encountered this before as its been this way for a very...

Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

It was simply a brain fart by the journalist...not surprised they'd ignore it...it was based on nothing.

    Velocity status on Singapore Airlines

Assuming you mean the Silverkris lounge, in Singapore that is only for business class passengers. Velocity status grants you access to the Krisflyer Gold lounge (which is an inferior but still OK lounge (T3)). SQ is a stickler for the rules and you will be allowed ONE guest over the age of 2...

Full list of Velocity Frequent Flyer carrier charges

The worst of these surcharges is still half of what QFF are paying for Emirates J & F awards. And a lot of people seem to absolutely over the moon to pay "just" $1800 in "taxes" on a one way from Australia to Europe.

Air NZ Experience as Velocity Platinum

Not a part of the codeshare agreement. In the same way that VA doesn't sell premium economy on United or Singapore Airlines.

Avianca LifeMiles – Bookings and Discussion

The ability exists for the operating carrier to "screen" which partner airlines have access to see the award inventory. Hence the reason SQ has always had its "special friends" that could access its premium cabins while most partners remained blocked.

How to book Velocity Amex free flight?

I had to cancel a flight I booked with the AMEX comp just before Xmas. I received a taxes refund of $85 to my credit card even though I hadn't paid anything!

Don't see any issue with that. Air Canada quotes AUD512 vs USD311.64 here.
