DRW - BNE in just 12:35

I always thought they did these pairings to simply dump pax on a connecting sector that perhaps isn’t as ‘peak’ as a more attractive earlier connection therefore increasing revenue. I’ve had this on some Sydney connections before, arrival was late arvo, but they didn’t offer a connecting flight...

    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

I’d say being the last week to the FY it’s probably more a last minute revenue grab vs anything else. Firms up spend for the last week of this FY and first of the next, building some last minute momentum either side.

Skytrans to Operate Lord Howe Island Route from March 2026 - Take over from Qantaslink

They only need two aircraft for the route looking at the schedule, is the third a spare? I thought the contract negotiated would take three aircraft into account.

TIL an A330 can fly with a ripped off winglet.

My last flight on the 330 the wall piece was falling off down the bottom, it was sort of pushed in with a bit of plastic holding it semi in place. I raised it with the CC when they had been walking past as it ended up falling off and she said oh that’s normal they will add it to the long list of...

    QantasLink Airbus A220 Discussion

They have plenty of cash on hand, and even with reduced earnings shouldn’t have any issues with its current loans having a brief look. They won’t be getting the initial intended return on investment however, and I’d expect the share price to languish a bit. I can’t see the A220s covering the...

Virgin Au Domestic - Cancellation Waived?

I’d call them and ask the question, I would say extremely unlikely. I would imagine for illness they will push you to travel insurance. Death is covered by the compassionate policy. Some cases which hit the media often get refunded also.

    QantasLink Airbus A220 Discussion

Reading the report it appears like they would be chasing tens of millions from QF to cover contract cost blowouts. Seems unlikely so close to a contracts end . I think Alliance will play a part, just not as big. Darwin/Cairns are bases that come to mind that might remain wet lease over a longer...

    QantasLink Airbus A220 Discussion

I wonder where they will start to go next year. Alliance appear to have the Embrear contract with Qantas for further two years. Intra QLD hopefully next up.

    Jetstar B787 Reliability Issues

Looks like both cancelled SIN-MELs came home eventually in recovery flights. I think it might be better to just axe the route and not even bother at all. The route just seems more a hassle these days.

    Jetstar B787 Reliability Issues

Looks like VKB is out of order in Singapore. JQ8 SIN-MEL cancelled yesterday and also tonight, assuming the current JQ7 MEL-SIN is operating a return backlog flight tonight plus dropping off spare parts!

TIL an A330 can fly with a ripped off winglet.

I wonder if someone hit the wingtip or it’s been taken away due cracks/corrosion etc.

TIL an A330 can fly with a ripped off winglet.

It’s an old tired fleet that should be heading to the exit.
