    A bit of humour

When I watched this, I thought of @JohnK in the WCMO thread, as he was the genesis of the topic discussed here: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/15T4X2aAJwL/

    MEL taxi scam

If they drive off with your luggage, you've just been robbed. I guess if you are inside you could be driven to some other place and then confronted and robbed. Because apparently touts are entitled to live.

    2025 Amex Membership Rewards Devaluation

Still got nothing in my Qatar account. 8-10 weeks. How comforting. What kind of amateur system are they peddling here (both on the Amex side as well as the QR side). On another note, I was wanting to cancel my Amex card given my anniversary is coming up in January. Looks like I may be doomed...

Airport security confiscated an empty water bottle

In SIN, I thought the duty free shop holds your purchases and has them directly delivered to the gate in secure bags. I think it's usually given to you after you are boarded, so you can carry it on. They may not do this any more. In any case, I don't think the agents that are screening for...

Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

The Australian suburban chippie doesn't typically make American style cheeseburgers. We have our own style. That said, I wanna see that contest or what not where the NP burger won the award. How could none of the other contenders possibly have not put up a competitive if not better American...

    Aussie passport cost increases again!

If they increase the price, they could at least make sure that the passports are fit for purpose. Then again, what choice do we have. They could charge $10,000 for a passport and either you shut up and put up or went without - like what choice do you really have. Does the government maybe have...

    A bit of humour

We got taught this when we were quite young, i.e. that "y" can be considered a vowel. Just add to the list of "lies" we teach kids that makes it easier to learn things, which we then discover the truth when we're older and more understanding. Of course, "y" is strictly not a vowel - it may make...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

VA680 PER-MEL dep 0645 a/c 738 Breakfast service onboard this morning was a choice between a breakfast burrito or scrambled eggs with potato and tomato with Cajun hollandaise. The latter I think is basically a deconstruction of the former, except no cheese, no bacon, no wrap and Cajun...

    What cheeses me off

Clearly, to a non-trivial number of people, they care very little about your secretaries' safety. They want cash payments and it shouldn't be second class to card payments; your encouraging non-cash payments over cash renders you as an a-hole to those people (of course, they are free not to use...

    What cheeses me off

In what part of our Australian societies do we actually need to worry about being robbed on the way to the bank to deposit the cash? That's something we should be concerned about. Except Alice Springs.

Would like to swap 2 x $100 and 2 x $50 hotel vouchers for wine vouchers please

I have a $50 wine voucher that will expire in Feb. Do you accept partial swaps, or looking to swap the whole lot you're offering there?

    A bit of humour

Might be humorous, but certain male toilets in Changi have had this feature for donkey's years.

What I ate today - the food thread

Chilling out in Margaret River. Went to a nice tapas bar called morries on the main street. Aside from a nice range of not so straightforward tapas, they also have a decently sized compendium of not so straightforward coughtails (as well as a decent range of other alcohols, including wine, of...

Jetstar wants to fly to the Philippines

I wonder if it has anything to do with beating traffic or meeting early morning flights from MNL (and, if needing to transfer terminals, especially on an unprotected connection, beating traffic)

PSA: Going through border control witha D sticker can be a pain if you don't know what you're doing. I'm on the fence about Lallier. It's OK, it's not battery acid, but it doesn't set my world on fire. This dish needs no introduction. Looks good and tastes likewise. Strange flavour chicken...

    2025 Amex Membership Rewards Devaluation

I sent through my transfer to Qatar last night. Amex deducted the points last night immediately and clearly showed the 2:1 transfer rate, but I've yet to receive them in my Privilege Club account. I hope it doesn't get rejected and then I will be forced to transfer at the 3:1 rate (or not at all).
