That seems helpful. So you call an internal security team and the deal with the offload via the police?

Philippine Airlines A350-1000s with 10-abreast Economy

Designed for a population that is not as heavy as other nations, Average Filipino is only 60kg compared to nearly 90kg in the west. Cebu also cram in a stupidly high number of seats in the A330.

    Ask The Pilot

AV, how often do you need to kick off passsngers for misbehaving? I have noted some poor behaviour lately. Is it a case of calling the AFP and telling them you want this person off and that’s the end of it? Ie the AFP has to do what the Captain wants?

    QantasLink Airbus A220 Discussion

It’s operates by a subsidiary who pay much less. I’m not sure they are replacing seats like for like either. I’d be interested to see on MEL-BNE if seats have slipped, but the could be getting a higher load factor. Virgin run a lot of -700s on the route also, definitely one that fluctuates a...

    Emirates receive their first A350

I’d imagine one will, likely waiting for whoever announces it first, both frequencies going to Toronto probably too much, likewise both going to Vancouver also too much. I’d say one frequency to each YYZ/YVR and Emirates to Vancouver. Would mean Etihad can pull the A380 off Toronto and go for...

    Finnair to launch Melbourne-Helsinki flights

Give it time, launch fares on many new starters are some of the worst fares you will ever see. Come back in say 1-2 months.

    Emirates receive their first A350

Expect more growth to Canada from EK and EY as the air services agreement has just added another 14 flights for UAE carriers effectively immediately.

    Finnair to launch Melbourne-Helsinki flights

If this is successful, and I’d imagine it will be considering the BKK route only has one full service carrier, plus Euro traffic is strong, then I wonder if Sydney is next. The other HEL-BKK could continue onto Sydney instead of returning. I see the Head of Strategy is a Sydney born individual...

    Koala Airlines Discussion

According to the Management Team LinkedIn search, all are employed elsewhere. Seems like Bill is running this alone trying to find someone to fund it. I hope he has read the Bonza creditors report. Will give him a good run down on expenses involved and how it’s somewhat not possible to make a...

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

Anyone know who gets the bill for this? Insurance provider for the ground handler? With all the hits over the years these ground handling companies must have sky high insurance contracts.

    Finnair to launch Melbourne-Helsinki flights

Wow didn’t see that coming. Obviously have seen a bit of the data and are happy with what they see. Australia to Europe is booming.

Jetstar wants to fly to the Philippines

What’s with all the domestic fights at Cebu between 12am-6am? Like a dozen departures to Manila, the flight isn’t even an hour. Who is flying on all these flights?

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

Appears it has been in AUH for the last 2 months for what seems to be a D check. Looks like it will be around for a while yet then. Seems like they are going to hold onto some 737s until the 25+ year mark.

    Emirates Delays/Cancellations

EK414 DXB-SYD (2200 arrival) diverted to PER this evening snd is now wheels up Perth looking at an eta 1230-1am into Sydney. Assume it’s going to Sydney they must have secured approval. Can’t say I’ve seen an A380 land into Sydney that long beyond curfew.
