Jetstar Asia to shutdown on 31 July 2025

That was seemingly the original plan, but the CASA registrations are in Jetstars name . Instead as you mentioned upthread older JQ aircraft like VQF VQM have gone to Network. Seemingly only 9V-JSI going direct to Network as VH-UVT

    2025 F1 Thread

Not sure how much was lack of form, versus lack of experience/ less applicable driving style on the street circuits.

    Jetstar adds Melbourne - Colombo

Given the refurbs start in Jan, JQ should have quite a few of the refurbs by Aug, and I suspect they will be mostly used on the longer routes (like SYD-ICN and this one) where JQ gets more benefits from the dedicated crew rests rather than blocking off seats

    Qantas Sydney International Business Lounge

Qantas website updated to suggest the Gate 24 lounge is now open. https://www.qantas.com/au/en/qantas-experience/at-the-airport/airport-lounges/all-qantas-airport-lounges/airport-lounge-locations.html/syd/International-business-Lounge.html

Qantas A380 refurbishment news and updates

Supposedly. But we haven't seen one yet (was thinking OQC might have had it done during its lengthy return to service checks). Reportedly more complex than the 787s as the 787s were pre-wired in the factory for the hump and the various wifi access points

Qantas A380 refurbishment news and updates

Think QF11 was cancelled on Sat due to the SYD-JNB diversion to MEL and cre out of hours. Hopefully LAX maintenance can quickly fix OQC. Nothing like real world testing I guess

AFF Review: Qantas A321XLR Economy Class (SYD-MEL)

On the seatback without TV screens should be noted that is the QF Domestic standard going forward (BYO device), and refurbed 738s will also have TV screens removed as they receive a cabin overhaul and new seats from 2026. (And similar for Jetstar 787s)

    Jetstar adds Melbourne - Colombo

What route stops for this one (or switches to 321s?)? Edit - From prior analyticflying analysis it possibly replaces SYD-HNL which ran in this slot last year.

    2025 F1 Thread

Definitely a tight season and lots of little moments that with hindsight could have had any of the top 3 winning it. Also a season where individual driver and car characteristics changed who was the fastest car from race to race, and allowed others into the top 3. Hopefully next year will be...

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

I don't see either BA or VA fully doing the American system. The American system doesn't give elites lounges access on domestic itineraries full stop (you need paid club access). And instead trades that for actual (or perceived) greater access to free upgrades. The American airlines have...

    2025 F1 Thread

Not a bad starting position for Oscar.. He can sit there and watch and take risks by doing the opposite to Lando. I predict Lando will be told to be conservative at the start and whatever happens just stick on Max's tail the whole race. Max needs to try and take risks however so that might...

    Qantas Sydney International Business Lounge

Definitely Qantas First. No-one yet knows what the Temp lounge will be like (but its location is a dungeon) and Plaza Premium is nothing special.

Qantas Starts Installing Split Scimitar Winglets

Different timing of both programs and probably an engine replacement at some point. Last Fleet update (start of year) had 11 of 22 SSWs installed, query the new ex-SQ aircraft) and only 6 of those in Silveroo. Probably add a few to both numbers by now.

Article: Let’s Talk About Airline Meals on Overnight Flights…

Agreed with those comments for Y. For the early morning arrivals in J I'll typically say let me sleep and just give me a coffee as close to landing as you can.. I don't care much for airline breakfasts and will have another coffee and food when I get home.
