Agree on the a380, but on the 777 IMO is more like 50% better than J

SQ F is good but they fly the 777 from lax and it stops at ICN, and then SIN so doesn’t really saves time

So turns out you can't route this way. On partner airlines you're not allowed stopovers and on SQ youre backtracking...

As mentioned you can transfer points to Marriott and then to AA (with the 5k points bonus), depending on how many points you need, you can also look into the Marriott Holiday packages, not sure how good they are post devaluation but depending on your circumstances it might work.
