As I said they can't impose the fine. It is important to note that an infringement notice is just an allegation of a contravention. They can send a notice and if the entity pays, it does not go to court. Or if there is no payment, it goes to court and the matter is contested Same as traffic...

They can't anymore than the ACCC can impose fines The regulatory bodies can only request a fine be imposed by taking a case before the federal Court. It's the Court who imposes the fine

    What cheeses me off

No, the RBA only has regulatory power over credit card payment fees when the card is used in Australia - whether the card is a domestic or foreign issued card. Similarly, The ACCC only has enforcement power in.Australia - over credit card payment fees when it is used in Australia.

    What cheeses me off

Well, Microsoft has an agreement to buy the power. The reactivating of Unit 1 reactor at 3 Mile Island is undertaken by an unrelated company. (Unit 2 was the one involved in the nuclear accident)

    What cheeses me off

Large data centres might need their own small modular nuclear reactors. There is a university in the US currently building its own nuclear reactor

So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

They come with new compliance plates but I am always wary of claims that the resulting vehicle can safely carry increased weight beyond the original design. The upgrades usually mean the vehicle has a very stiff unladen ride which may be less safe, the brakes are not re-engineered to account...

So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

Agree, I suspect the Toyota engineers realise that Most prado owners wont tow much apart from a Bunnings box trailer. And then there are those who are clearly going to be over the limit with roofracks, bull bar, bariatric passengers, car full of stuff and towing a 20 ft caravan and then driving...

So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

That is true however they are different vehicles though For example, You cant tow a 2 tonne trailer in a Y and while they say the max towing capacity is 1600kg, the max tongue weight is only 100kg meaning that i would not tow anything more than 1T. The power consumption is horrendous though...

Which is the best airline to fly from Australia to Bali?

I just checked ex ADL MH flights. The problem is still the ADL arriving into KUL after the 2 Mh flight a day KUL- DPS departs from KUL requiring a significant layover - maybe 17hrs The layover in the return is better though I would not do SQ from ADL as both legs require an overnight layover...

"Coffee tax" creeping into IHG hotels

Maybe one day the Barista can be replaced by a Robot. Same for sommeliers who seem to describe wine with adjectives that have nothing to do with wine. All mumbo jumbo

"Coffee tax" creeping into IHG hotels

No complaints here. Somehow when I visit Melbourne, not drinking coffee did not affect my experience. Very few singaporeans cook at home. Easier just to eat out. - cheap easy, quality. No need for instant noodles. It's as though the barista is already so cheap there is no need for machine...
