Are you trying to use the CVV from the app or the card? The app has a variable CVV now, so may not play nicely with regular direct debits which presumably rely on the same data to charge the card each time. You click on a link to redemption offers from within the card that earns points. This...

Provided you're only claiming in relation to the period when you're actually travelling, there's no real problem. (Otherwise multi-trip policies wouldn't be a thing!)
