What's behind your AFF user name?

Oh, and that's my foot surrounded by those garra rufa fish that allegedly nibble the dead skin off your feet. Watch out for the fat ones. IRL, I'm much taller than a hobbitses.

What's behind your AFF user name?

Mine isn't my name, it's my initials, how they would be said.

    General Medical issues thread

Just had an injection in my hip for bursitis. I'm hoping it will be more effective than the injection in my facet joint in Feb (the only appreciable effect of that injection has been numbness along the side of my leg ever since). The injection hurt like <swear words>! The doctor reassured me...

    Advice on champagne

Pulled a Pol Roger 2009 out of the fridge on Weds night to have with the ILs. They were over for dinner, as they do every week, and Thursday was their 60th wedding anniversary. Thursday was also their middle child's birthday, but most of the family went to a nice lunch in New Farm yesterday to...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

QF163 tonight delayed by 2 hours so far. I do not have good luck with sneaky weekends across the ditch.

Experiences with flights BA16 and BA15

It doesn't matter if it's checked through, because if it's only checked to SYD, then you can check the luggage in at the transfer desk for the SYD-BNE domestic leg on Qantas rather than just dropping it off at the same transfer desk.

Reason for carry-on being diverted for manual check at security (and then released without check)

My knitting can trigger the machines. It did at BNE domestic two weeks ago. The person looked at the image, asked if I had knitting in there, and gave me the bag. I think it was due to the circular needles and how they look wound around themselves in the XRay.

Experiences with flights BA16 and BA15

It doesn't matter who you flew into Sydney with, as long as you're on Qantas from SYD to BNE, you can use that checkin/bag drop area and transfer bus.

Transit through US a good idea or not?

I had (and still do have) some reservations about visiting the US, but entered DFW 10 days ago without incident. The usual level of questions that I've had over the past 30 years and more than 50 entries into the US. One time I had issues was in the late 90s, due to how much luggage I had...

American Airlines launching BNE-LAX in partnership with Qantas

I'm QF WP on a Y booking. BNE-SYD-DFW-DCA-LAX-BNE. DFW-DCA is on AA, DCA-LAX is on AS. I can select MCE, but it took so much faffing about to get that PNR/get the reservation recognised by the AA system, only middle seats are left. So I'm sticking with an aisle seat further back.

American Airlines launching BNE-LAX in partnership with Qantas

I tried that, it didn't work. The PNRs I have for the booking and what showed in the BA website just weren't accepted in the AA app or website. Only the QF ticket number worked in the AA app and only then could I see the AA PNR. I have a total of three for this one booking. By the looks of it, 1...

American Airlines launching BNE-LAX in partnership with Qantas

I used this method the other week to move 8 rows forward* on an AA flight (QF codeshare) in Y for an upcoming trip. Perhaps due to codeshare, none of the PNRs I had were recognised by the AA website or app, but the QF ticket was. *Forward compared to what was available to select in QF's MMB.
