    What cheeses me off

A Japanese airline would be about the only one that could manage in the time! Have you seen the train ladies in action - theyare tremendously efficient

    TV series discussion {'ware Spoiler Alert}

I know zero about soccer but watched it over the weekend and it was terrific. Later read a review in the paper which said David Beckham had a hole in his heart the size of Alex Ferguson

Article: I Nearly Missed My Flight And Forgot How to Navigate an Airport

A girlfriend and I travelled to Italy & UK about 10 years ago both in our 60s and a fair bit of travel under our belts. We had about 5 hours to kill at Heathrow and kill em we did. Had lots of fun in the shops. My friend was getting full makeup done at a cosmetics counter (as you do) when I...

CEO retiring, what changes at Qantas would you like to see

Watching the US show Undercover Boss really illustrates to those bosses with their heads in an anatomically difficult positoin the nitty gritty about their businesses.I reckon it would be a huge eye opener for the new boss!

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

There was an interesting program a few years ago about how Heston Blumenthal had been brought in by (I assume) BA to revise their menu - possibly in first class.. He came up with some fancy dancy ideas, a couple were for the crew to finish cooking them in midair or some such nonsense. He was on...

    What cheeses me off

Lack of customer service? That should have hardened you up to deal with Qantas

    What cheeses me off

I've been cheesed off for years at the cost of Medibank Private premiums. We've paid so much my new membership card is now a gold one! MrMac has had quite a few health issues in the last 20 years - heart & cancer. Most recently a heart ablation procedure 3 months ago. All well & great results...

    Denali Demo and Rebuild

In my experience is always a great idea to keep the tradies on-side (not that you wouldn't be pleasant) but a little kindness goes a long way. I recall in the good old days of landlines having the Telstra fellows in on a Sat to put in ONE extra point. Being winter and Melbourne it was terribly...

Just started using charcoal - stunningly better than heatbeads. I could not believe the difference

Just when you thought you had seen it all in the Qantas lounge...

All this talk about hands in food takes me back to the mid 60s and our domestic science teacher Miss Anderson. Dark red nail polish always in the same state of chipped-ness. Making pastry with red talons poking about in it and the odd fleck of polish you'd find. Absolutely gross. IIt scarred me...

Just when you thought you had seen it all in the Qantas lounge...

I was really peeved one day in the lift when we'd arrived at Ground and a bloke pushed me aside to get out first. I said - after you, you're most welcome. Guess it hit home because he told me very loudly to get f....'d... And as there were some of his workmates behind me I have to hope they saw...

Just when you thought you had seen it all in the Qantas lounge...

I used to catch trams/trains when I worked in the city. If a man stood and offered me a seat I would always take it & say thank you - even if I was only going one or two stops; and I would add - I'm getting off shortly - but thank you. Please and thank you are just - or should be - automatic

Just when you thought you had seen it all in the Qantas lounge...

I went as Kath Day-Night to a fancy dress party. After trawling through the offerings at many a Salvos I managed to get 2 tracksuits. Neon pink, acid green, purple. Looked absolutely hideous. I kept them both for a couple of weeks before I came to my senses - they were actually weirdly comfortable

Roomba, Dysons, Thermomix and other household appliances

Oho. I'm about to get a new kitchen and will be sans cooking facilities for 3-4 weeks. I thought I could get by with a bbq & microwave but just spotted these comments. Do you reckon it'd be worth buying one to fill the gap? I can't say I'm thrilled at the thought of a heap of microwaved meals

    What is Qantas playing at?

You wonder what previous CEOs of Qantas would make of all this - Covid aside - (how long can they trot out that excuse) every aspect of the "service" has deteriorated. And not just a little bit

    What is Qantas playing at?

The apple thingy to slip into your luggage would almost sell itself, I reckpn. Not that Qantas would get it to the passenger any quicker!
