    QF 717 experience

Was a proper op-up, full J service, meal options all available. No table cloth, so domestic standard service, swmbo had a really nice soup in a proper size bowl. Really quite a large bowl actually, for a domestic plane lol. The new wine glasses are a lovely change, no Pepe Saya butter for the...

    QF 717 experience

We flew the 717 BNE-MEL on the weekend. Very nice experience as we received an op-up. :-) We were booked on an all Y class 717 according to the QF seat map, however they must have sub'd it as I got a txt at T13 saying the flight was pushed back 30min. Only SG so very happy with the op-up for...

New domestic J glassware and cutlery

I do rather like that cultured butter and the sour dough (I presume) bread.... Our family are doing our bit to bring real butter back into fashion. :-)

    Is QF considering Lifetime Platinum?

100% agree, those who sail past 28k I doubt QF thinks they need to insentivise. The many who make it to 14k slow and steady are the ones QF needs to entice to 28k (or mid-30s).

    Is QF considering Lifetime Platinum?

Fixed, typical late Sunday arvo, one has a few bevvies under one's belt and inevitably the odd 'brain fart' slips in. :p Edit: despite MEL being my home port, I've made that typo on here I don't know how many times!

Qantas Entertainment App: Is it worth installing?

I would, well have. I like options, so I've got it installed on my iPhone (never used) and iPad Pro (have used) and have used the enterainment 'portal' on my laptop. If there's no seatback IFE, then I prefer to use my device to a QF supplied iPad.

    Is QF considering Lifetime Platinum?

Having read all the comments here and on ausbt, there's no doubt QF are losing at least a little revenue from not having LTP, though whether it's enough to warrant it's intro is a complex business analysis question that QF may just not be bothered calculating (other lower or bigger hanging...

Double Status Credits (book by 5/2/18, fly 12/2/18 to 20/1/19)

Yup, I've done it. Though I split the return to an o/n in Sydney. :-) Since it's the same plane you can't miss it. :-P

Double Status Credits (book by 5/2/18, fly 12/2/18 to 20/1/19)

Hmmm, might be a gotcha for me - I received a targeted 50% bonus SC offer yesterday morning for bookings made 31 Jan - 6 Feb and naturally registered straight away. So now I'm thinking that registration will take precedence over the current double promo which I've just registered for? Any thoughts?

Ditto. More than happy for QFF to have my answers, particularly as some of my answers were intended for that audience... :)

10,000 Bonus QFF Points for opening an IG Share trading account

Seems quite hit or miss, I registered on a Wednesday earlier this month, bought on the Thursday and my 10k +25 came through the next Monday.

    Qantas Wine latest offering

Halliday gave the 2015 a good rating, not sure about the 2016 but I ordered a case anyway It's still 'processing' at epiQure, will let you know when it arrives as I'll be cracking a bottle straight away. BTW, just noticed Dan's sells it for $20 bottle, $19 in a six pack, so the 8000 points come...

    Misleading Qantas bonus points offer

I agree on both accounts. My gut tells me that I've spent more than appears on the woolies tally, and likewise not worth the effort to chase up. I buy 700+ bottles of wine a year, so whenever epiqure has points bonus for wines I usually buy and at a similar price to Dan's then it's a no-brainer...

    Boeing vs Bombadier

I suspect you're spot on. I've only been in a QF 717 once and I was glad I had my noise cancelling headphones. Still cracks me up though that Bombardier makes aircraft, they were the 'other' snowmobile company when I was a kid. :p

Too tempting, ordered! During the 90's WW Church Block was my go to for a quaffing blend, then Miss Harry came along... :p

    Qantas Wine latest offering

Will do, should arrive next day or two. Apparently much of the vineyard is now 18 years old, so not so baby anymore! Might get a case of Miss Harry as well. Always a good 'un for a ready to drink cheapy-ish wine that's got some personality. :)

    Chasing the Qantas 787

We flew on it yesterday - QF439. Funnily I had know idea before hand, thought we were flying A330 but when I was selecting seats was a little confused that I couldn't select a seat row lower than low-40s but once on-board saw the Y+ and the bigger windows and thought ah-hah! The plane we were on...

Qantas and Uber - Points partnership

I used it yesterday at SYD. Strange though that the pin drop was miles from the airport in the Uber app after clicking the Uber book button in the Qantas app and being passed through to the Uber app, even though I was standing in T3. Once I moved the pin and ordered, I was correctly directed to...
