Qantas First Lounge Syd vs JAL First Lounge HND?

If it was afternoon vs. afternoon, I'd pick SYD any day. But given the SYD option is breakfast, I'd pick HND. A friend was there at the end of last month and told me there was no Yamazaki in the bar upstairs anymore 🤯

Qantas Hotels no longer supplying Tax Invoices

I can only assume these are hotels that are directly registered with Hooroo, as opposed to Expedia / Hooroo via. Expedia?

Carry on Baggage Question Qantas Domestic

I admittedly have taken baggage over the prescribed weight limit on aircraft from time to time before, but I would never blame the staff if they called me out for it. The rules are well known and displayed on signs everywhere, it was my choice to try my luck and ignore them.

Tokyo Haneda slot - How will Virgin Operate it? [CNS-HND flights ceased Feb '25]

Yes I'm sure that'll be fine, trying to use FF status (as opposed to class of travel) is when you usually run into issues.

    The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

Yes, but Make sure you haven't hit the 20k point limit for points from flights If it's a non-QF flight, it may take some time to credit. You should still retain Points Club when it's credited though The date is based on local time of where you took off

    Favourite airline on-board freebie?

For a brief period JAL was adding a phone stand and a USB-A to Lightning & USB-C cable in their premium cabin amenity kits I don't particularly care for the cable, but the phone stand is nice and I haven't actually been able to find one as compact since (credit card sized, folds very thin...

How much baggage allowance should I expect? (Jetstar/QF same PNR)

Also remember that IIRC your baggage will not transfer automatically at Auckland since JQd doesn't do that.

    QR next-gen QSuites

IMO the biggest improvement is the claim that the seat is "4 inches wider" in bed mode. Unfortunately there's no real comment on where exactly it's wider, and how exactly they're getting this width - the 777X is only 4" wider than the 777, so idk where you'd find an extra 16" of width. My...

Help! Points for QR flight not credited. Still being accused of lying.

I agree that an IT glitch is the most likely. Looks like it's been around for 6 months though, so I'm surprised that it still hasn't been fixed. It's a bit strange though because at least one person was able to contact the FFP of the number that replaced theirs (BA) and confirmed that the...

Help! Points for QR flight not credited. Still being accused of lying.

Sounds like someone opened an account in that @DisgustedwithQatar 's name with Qatar Privilege Club and attached it to their booking, thus taking their points. @DisgustedwithQatar , how do you know that someone at QR opened the account using your information? I assume you see a QR Frequent...

    Earn points on Bank Transfers

Never done it with Citi, but usually you can just call and they'll refund it to your bank account.

Is the original cash booking ticketed? It won't work if it's not ticketed yet IIRC

    Virgin changing its fare structure

I expect this to be problematic for those crediting VA flights to non-VFF programs, since booking Flex no longer guarantees a higher booking code than Choice, and you may not be able to force a higher fare code (to ensure you earn status credits) when booking online, without engaging a travel...

Looks like it's refund only, no rebooking (on ANA) :(

There's piles of B2B software like CrowdStrike that everybody uses but you'd never come across in your day to day.

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

I never have any issue with the friendliness etc. of Qantas crew. What I do often have a problem with (and it's probably not entirely the fault of the crew per se, could be how many crew Qantas decides to allocate etc.) is how LONG meal services take. This is especially annoying on the sub-9hr...

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Isn't the point of the A350 & Project Sunrise so that you don't have to go via. Perth? So like any other flight ever? Unless you mean they should keep the lights off for the full 17 hours which... I mean... I could probably deal with that in J, but it would be quite painful in W and Y (not that...
