Seats.aero - a useful tool for finding Qantas & Velocity reward availability

@SeatsIan thank you - that is very generous of you to do so for what if I'm honest is a very niche market (the Irish diaspora is relatively small in ADL; PER or MEL is another story)! 🙏 I've set up my desired flight alerts now. Really impressed with the response to unintentional customer...

Economist article on the Problems with Rewards Programmes

Interesting article on CC Rewards Programmes in The Economist. For those who lack access some snippets: I don't have direct experience with regard to how easy it is to earn points with FF programmes in Australia vs USA, but having lived in the UK and dabbled a little in Avios while I was...

Seats.aero - a useful tool for finding Qantas & Velocity reward availability

Hi all, I've been playing around with seats.aero a little more and I was wondering if anyone had any strategies about the best rewards alerts to set up to fly to and from Europe to Australia given the lack of a 'direct route' meaning you can't simply just set your desired airports and set a...

Seats.aero - a useful tool for finding Qantas & Velocity reward availability

@SeatsIan thanks, hope you can get the legal issues worked out with AC. 🙏

Seats.aero - a useful tool for finding Qantas & Velocity reward availability

Thanks for clarifying. My first few dummy searches threw up lots of connecting flights so I assumed it would do that for all searches. Not as automated as I would have liked if I have to potentially search by individual segment to build an itinerary, but not the end of the world.

Seats.aero - a useful tool for finding Qantas & Velocity reward availability

Ah, sorry, should have been more specific (I was in my e-mail to Aeroplan). 🥴 It's PER - MRU - CDG & PER - MRU - LGW not displaying.

Seats.aero - a useful tool for finding Qantas & Velocity reward availability

I purchased a membership today as part of their Black Friday sale. I decided to do a few dummy runs to see how comprehensive it is out of the gate. FYI there appears to be some issue with Aeroplan awards availability displaying correctly - seats.aero is not picking up Air Mauritius awards...

    YouTubers. Youtubers everywhere [Travel Bloggers]

Any love out there for Vicarious Voyager? Definitely a study in quality over quantity, he's been active for about 5 years but only has 46 videos on his YouTube. Unlike a lot of the youtubers mentioned here this is a side gig for him and I think this makes his content very genuine. It's...

Qatar Devaluation: Increase in Carrier Fees [Reversed, sort of]

My emotions: disappointed but also unperturbed. Disappointed. My issue is not so much with the rise itself, but with the sneaky way it was conducted with no announcement or no warning. It is, to be frank, unprofessional to alter the price of a service and not communicate it to the customer...

    AMEX rejection

No. I continue to hold my HSBC SA Gold card that was the last one I opened, in October of last year.

    AMEX rejection

Hi all. Reapplied for this card today (8 months later). Instant approval. 🥳 Nothing else changed about circumstances. Like I said previously, AMEX frat boys throwing darts at applications. 😵‍💫 Either that, or AMEX or gaslightling me. 😬

    Do AMEX referral links expire?

So does that mean I can accept this offer on face value, or are you saying that AMEX can turn around and say that, regardless of what was offered and even though there was no expiry date on it, that was an old link and the bonus won't be honoured?

    Booking Sri Lankan Airlines?

I've flown on UL in the past 6 months and thought they had a great soft product and OK hard product in J (IFE selection was very poor especially - bring a book or pre-load shows on your own device). The main downside was that both of my flights were delayed. One delay was just 20 minutes but...

    Do AMEX referral links expire?

Hi all, One of the forum members was kind enough to supply me with a referral link to the Platinum card offering 275,000 MR points for signing up. Unfortunately AMEX rejected me back in January for undisclosed reasons  (it has been suggested on this forum it was likely that they had...

    Revolut referral?

Hi all, So I signed up for Revolut and I now am in the position to provide my own referral code to see if I can benefit both myself and some other members. It's open to the first 5 referrals only - any more and neither you or I get any additional benefit. I will receive $110 for each referral...

Article: My 3 Favourite Airline Points in 2024

Wow! I figured I was being pretty savvy by concentrating on exactly the three programs that Matt also endorses but from the other comments it seems like a lot of the cool kids are doing the same thing! 😖:D I've obtained points on five different programs in the past 18 months. In order of...

    Aeroplan 50K benefits

Not online. If you try to it tells you that the journey has already commenced and to contact an AC number to arrange it. Anyone who I've tried to give a pass to where this is happened has been a good friend, but perhaps not good enough for me to endure AC Customer Service (repeated traumas at...
