    Virgin Lounge Food

I can advise that yes it is a significant consideration for at least 15 of my work team. Virgin is roughly the same price for our travel system - usually only $1-2 between them since QF came to the discount party (VA did not). But when staff started claiming drinks and food on board (and...

Multiple rooms - stay credit - GP

No, just the points. I do this all the time with colleagues so they get lounge access and I get points. But no extra stay/night allocation.

    Virgin economy 'catering'

We received quite a few complaints from our field staff who were typically being allocated VA for the Darwin routes as part of BFOD that they have been given permission to book QF if it is up to $50 more - as they were spending up big on-board VA !

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

On the contrary - it appears you and I are very valuable P1 members - we are both domestic air warriors - So we are classified: "eats mainly packets of nuts/pretzels or defrosted cake and rarely uses the First Class Lounge therefore saves QF lots of money in champagne and food" - so our bottle...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

The letter starts: "As one of our long standing Platinum One members since its launch in 2011..." (which is quite weird to hear it that way - I am not long term for QFF however - I have only been a member of QFF for 8 years)

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Don't give up - my parcel was supposed to arrive last Saturday - (I received an email with a GPS tracker) - so I tracked - there was no "we missed you" or notification. I was advised the driver tried numerous times - asked for the times - not able to supply... "oh he must have been very...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Ditto :) Vintage Krug - how acceptable :) I did appreciate the accompanying letter - which acknowledged me as a Long-Standing Platinum One Member. I wonder if this made a difference as to what was received?

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

agree how about the "Member of the 35 LTG club" status  - I obtained LTG at 32 (5 years as a QFF member) - soon to hit the 10-year member level and I now have 30,000+SC and waiting (and waiting) for LTP...

Boarding soon, Retro Roo. Destination, Longreach!

To be honest I'm little disappointed by this - it makes the return flight 3.45hrs long on what sounds like a full 737 and cuts the time in Longreach down 1 hour to the same length of the return flight (hopefully this is enough time to see the museum?) I'm sure it all works out well in the end...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Friday will see me tick over to another year of P1 mostly on domestic Y (with over a month to spare so I am now in my self-imposed 'period of regeneration' ) and I finally got an invitation to something after 14 months of nothingness: The official launch of Sesion Premium Tequila with Jennifer...

Rewards at 2400 SC in a membership year

Go to the additional status information on Your Account page (where the life time SC are) - I had the option placed there!

    Qantas Trans-Tasman Business Class

Having just done a J on EK (QF codeshare) (SYD-CHC) and QF back - the food and drink is by far superior on QF. In fact the EK meal was so bad (and smelt disgusting) I sent it back advising them it would have to be one of the worst J meals I have ever been served. Everything else was just tough...

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Q - is the problem the highlighted bit? + the four segments on AA metal one has to clock up... Seeing most of my flying is Australia & NZ / Pacific + the odd South Africa/Asia (in Y) - the AA proposition of four segments on AA metal looks a little challenging. I think I have only flown AA 3...

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

I am at 30K+ SC - not bad since November 2007 - most of it domestic - so it is not like I can go anywhere. Now if VA made them count for something (and improved their catering) that might be an incentive to me to fly more VA and for QF to keep me! I would also like to be able to achieve WP...

Received survey about new business class product - but didn't have it on flight!

Only 2 in J ! That would have been rather exclusive. Imagine if their new fancy J Class Cabin was carrying 2 pax?! In saying that I was upgraded by the CSM once on a SYD-PER VA flight because they had no J passengers and he didn't want his staff to get too bored. Of course I complied with...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

I did an entire earning year of P1 on Y domestic/Asia Pacific region 2 years ago, albeit most of them flexi fares but a few discount Ys. Does that mean I get a free lunch? :p Now it is about 85% domestic Y - 115 Domestic/Trans-T QF flight sectors since 1 Jan (along with enough VA flights for...

Boarding soon, Retro Roo. Destination, Longreach!

Indeed yes this one sounds really interesting and have always wanted to visit the Qantas Founders Museum - and in comfort! I think my +1 and I need to attend :p Looking forward to the other 95th Birthday celebrations!

    What's up with Emirates?

Agree - I have found myself going back to the QF 737s in J to and from NZ rather than EK. Previous flights on EK have been underwhelming. I find QF better with service and food. Whilst seats are not as good obviously for such a short trip it does not really matter to me as I find the QF 737...

    JQ expansion - with props!?

Great news. Hopefully Even as a VA WP I do lots of regional flights around NZ and not one AirNZ flight ever counts for points or SC with VA - even at the obscenely expensive pricing. So I am happy to give JQ a go if QF QC and points can be had.

    No more fully flexible fare!

The flip side is if you were paying for Fully Flex domestic fares - you would now typically be ahead on cost savings as the old flexi savers are quite a bit cheaper even with the $88 refund fee. I know we are actually saving money now for some staff!
