An Open Letter to my fellow AFF members - External Influence on this website

Given the current state of air fares ex Australia, I would hope we would have a large support group of people asking that people fly their favorite Australian airline to the closest SE Asian airport (in economy) and then find a suitable partner airline to transfer to their final destination...

    Cathay Pacific returning to Adelaide

For someone who does not actually live in the Perth metro area (but a few hours away in WA) the arrival times of almost all international flights into PER are AWFUL. And the MH 125 flight (x13) that does arrive in the middle of the afternoon (allowing for a drive home) earns nothing with QFF...

Airnorth launching direct Perth-Alice Springs flights

QF priced the PER-ASP route in $$ at such a level that economy classic rewards were a "great deal". Then they scheduled only on the weekends.... Alas visiting the grandchildren now requires many more thousands of miles wandering Fred

Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

According to EF, the base rates (ie the $$ BEFORE taxes and airline "special charges") are about 30% less for LONE4 and DONE4 in Oslo than in Sydney. LONE4 is about 20% less in Oslo than Tokyo, though Tokyo is slightly less for the DONE4. As always YMMV and in Australia always get multiple price...

    JQ PER-DPS cautions

Online states a bagdrop would be available. Being international, there would have to have been a document check, checking your data. At the JQ checkin at PER, there was no advantage to the passenger as there was only one (VERY long est 45minute) queue. The advantage to JQ would have been...
