Is anyone familiar with how late you can cancel a domestic business flight on VA? From what I've read it seems like up until departure is okay. I need to travel late in my wife's pregnancy and was planning on booking the last J flight for a couple of nights but would most likely cancel them...

I prefer to sit forward as there's less engine noise, and I prefer seeing less people in front of me as it feels more private and quiet (even though it's not).

We're planning a very similar itinerary for Nov-Dec this year. QF1 to Singapore, 2 nights in Singapore then on to Helsinki. Coming back we'll be overnight in Singapore before taking a flight the next day direct back to Brisbane. All one way CR flights.

Does anyone know if it's possible to request a release as WP with a non-family member travelling with the WP on the same booking? I know that it's clear that WP can only request on behalf of family if the WP is not travelling.

I always wondered if fare basis was taken into account - makes total sense that a full J or really any cash fare should trump an upgrade.

Of the ~200 people a few percent are going to be of the entitled type and unfortunately travel seems to bring that trait out in the best of people. My favourite thing about this system imo is that it's actually enforced, if not for anything but to allow priority boarding actually remain priority.

You don't pay a change fee but you will pay a fare difference if there is one - but you'll realise that whether you change or cancel and rebook. CR is flexible but 5,000 point change fee.

Last week 3 out of 4 sectors were served 1A to 3F which is what I usually see, but on the last one they served someone in 1F first and then resumed 1A to 3F from there. They might've been particularly VIP.. I don't recall seeing it deviate otherwise though - VA is always different.
