Had the "underplate" for lunch today on QF37. It was quick and easy but easily slipped off the tray table which was annoying. They need proper rubber feet.

We arrived at 12:30pm and it was very quiet, escorted from entry to table and had very quick service (10 min wait for meals) and constant champagne top ups. It got quite busy from 2pm though and service slowed from there.

My mate didn't arrive until 12pm so missed out on the breakfast menu, we enjoyed enough of the all day dining though.

I was originally planning on flying VA at 8am from BNE to MEL on Friday. Ended up flying down with QF Wednesday morning instead and holding out for VA to cancel the flight so I can get a refund on my lite booking.. Cancellation text came through last night so made the right call to leave earlier.

Just went to make a booking and noticed that the seat selection UI has changed. This feels more like VAs booking screen, making the cost of each seat more obvious. Complete speculation but I wonder if this is a precursor to more seat selection fees in general.

Emailed the FF team about this yesterday, got a response this morning and points back in my account this afternoon. Separately success at T-5 for BNE-SYD on Monday 5:20am and T-1 for SYD to BNE tonight at 8pm. CSM was very energetic and offered a bottle of Koonunga to take home.
