Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF1962 NTL-BNE dep 0600 op Alliance a/c E90 Same breakfast options as before, so I go for the frittata this time over the scrambled eggs. The frittata incorporates capsicum within it, with garnishes of tomato, sausages and creamed spinach. Served again with a warmed raspberry and coconut muffin...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF1965 BNE-NTL dep 1400 op Alliance a/c E90 Managed to score an earlier flight, and perhaps in the process sidestepped a roast meal! Spinach and feta pie (or slice of pie), serve with ratatouille. Same as @DrJ 's meal the other day, except no rocket or other sides, just a Lindt ball. A very...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

How does it work? Do you need to keep power on the aircraft all night to keep the fridges on? A subtle advantage for the E90s as opposed to the more workhorse mainline 737s. Anyone aware if the Airbuses replacing the 737s also have cold storage?

    What cheeses me off

Should have mentioned: an extra minus 10 points to those idiots who throw used spoons or stirrers back into the containers or holders that have the clean ones.

    What cheeses me off

The chairs thing is very common, not just for surveying the buffet, but when they leave. Worse are the ones sitting behind you that push the chair out with full force... whack! Surprised you didn't see a few pyjamas around the place, but maybe hotels do insist on some sorts of standards in the...

QF1962 NTL-BNE dep 0600 op Alliance a/c E90 Breakfast choices - both hot. Scrambled eggs with spinach, beans and bacon; or Frittata with tomato and sausage. Both served with a raspberry and coconut muffin (warmed) and a packet of dried fruit (featuring upcycled fruit). Tea and coffee available...

Cathay Pacific to fly Hong Kong-Dallas/Fort Worth direct

Thought CX used to run a service to DFW already. I know AA has DFW/HKG. That's a rather interesting route for RJ. Trying to imagine a flight between DFW and AMM.

QF1966 NTL-BNE dep 1605 op Alliance a/c E90 Harissa lamb, this was called. Appears to be a braise, and I'm not sure about harissa. Harissa tends to be a bit spicy, but that said the tomato concoction it was heated in appeared to have some sliced red vegetables on top of the lamb. They were a...

Emirates charges $2K to fly J angled seats!

Will likely affect the lounge you access in DOH if you have status alone, viz. true J passengers get access to a better lounge than those with "Business equivalent" status. Still, a QR J fare for the price of a EK copay, that's still amazing. Makes you wonder what the EK cash price is, and how...

Emirates charges $2K to fly J angled seats!

Nope - you're absolutely right. I checked Aerolopa and the non-refitted B777s exist. Wow. Like I said, I wonder if they deploy them on routes which they suspect are not so premium heavy. DXB/AMS somewhat surprises me, though if they had to deploy a B777 of this kind to operate a route, if the...

Emirates charges $2K to fly J angled seats!

I thought EK retrofitted all of their 777s that had the 2-3-2 angled J. Did they keep some for those routes where it's not premium heavy and they have lots of Y seats?

QF1967 BNE-NTL dep 1855 (sched) 1935 (actual) op Alliance a/c E90 Roast pork, roast vegetables (peas, capsicum, potatoes) and roast sauce (that's what they said). Only one option. No bread, but a Lindt ball given to conclude the meal on a mere 75 minute flight. I don't know about roasting as...

Major changes to Velocity Frequent Flyer announced 17/10/24

Was the person helping you from Australia? Not that it should matter: good service is good service, and it's not unreasonable to expect it all the time, particularly as a Plat Plus... How long ago did you book your flight? If it was very long ago, that price hurts. I could understand (not...

    A bit of humour

Probably an old joke told at our staff meeting today.... Patient: [anxiously] "Doctor, doctor! You gotta help me! I keep thinking I'm a wigwam. No, I'm a teepee. No! I'm a wigwam. No! I'm a teepee! No, wigwam! Aaah, teepee! Wigwam! Teepee! Wigwam! Teepee! ..." Doctor: "OK OK! Calm down.... I...

Major changes to Velocity Frequent Flyer announced 17/10/24

If the 800 pt minimum holds at QF, you'd need to fly approx 12 flights to make the lowest possible QF award (zone 1 Y redemption on QF and selected partners). Based on that flight you just took, you would need 22 flights to achieve the lowest possible award on VA (zone 1 Y lowest tier...
