United Airlines argues ‘window seat’ does not mean ‘seat with a window’

Well, that was going to be tested in court but it didn't get to a court judgement on whether a ticket could legally just be a bundle of rights or whether the consumer laws prevail. In the end, there was a settlement with the ACCC (the $120milion settlement) and Qantas importantly agreed to no...

United Airlines argues ‘window seat’ does not mean ‘seat with a window’

I never claimed they did. My post about taking a leaf out of QF playbook was about something completely different to QF labelling or not labelling seats. It was about selling something but calling it something else. I don't know how to make it clearer but I'll try... Qantas tried to use an...

United Airlines argues ‘window seat’ does not mean ‘seat with a window’

Next time speak to the call centre and ask them to move your seat assignment to a "window" seat. They understand "window" seats and will gladly sell you a ticket with a "window" seat assignment (Even though they don't charge extra for window seats per se).

Use of lithium Batteries for medical equipment on board

Nothing. Colin sullivan invented portable nasal CPAP, though CPAP as a technique was used in ICUs for many years prior to that but that was for intubated patients. Resmed started mass production maybe late 1980s into early 1990

United Airlines argues ‘window seat’ does not mean ‘seat with a window’

They do indicate overwing exits, so not a stretch to indicate wall seats, but what actually constitutes a window seat?. In my view it is only a window seat when the passenger can control the shade (notwithstanding cabin crew instructions). There are seats positioned in such a way that it is...

    What cheeses me off

I thought i was good enough 150m of a 4-5m overgrown hedge Bought a Stihl battery pole chain saw thinking i would be able quickly prune the entire hedge back to 1.5m It's too hard or I'm too useless in these matters, and the little chain gets blunt so quickly even though it is auto lubricated...

Use of lithium Batteries for medical equipment on board

I believe all CPAP batteries are Li-ion and most under 100W but most airlines allow you to carry spares. For example, If under 100W QF allows up to 20 spares in carry on luggage. Basically the bottom line is to always check with airline. Regardless of what IATA says or does not say, each...

And of course the Berkheimer vs Rekm case of the Boneless chicken. The Ohio Supreme Court said that customers should not expect Boneless Chicken to be boneless as it describes a cooking style rather than a guarantee that the dish would be Boneless
