    Qantas FY25 results

Proximity is irrelevant. CX, QR, EK (up until recently), etc all aggressively target the US points market. It is about who you sell your points to, and at what rate. And I'm not talking about status.

    Qantas FY25 results

Long term, what Qantas Loyalty will likely do is sell out Australians and shift its growth focus to the US. It's what most European carriers have done following the imposition of interchange caps and the decline of the domestic points market.

    Qantas FY25 results

Yes and no. Its TAM is, in fact, far larger than Australia — people from all around the world can sign up to QFF. It taps into the world's biggest pool of points (the US) when growths slows. Eg it ran multiple transfer bonuses from US Amex MR coming out of COVID-19. It recently ran one from...

    Qantas FY25 results

Qantas Loyalty's net operating margin has reduced for the 5th straight year in a row. Growth in points bookings is down compared to last financial year. Growth in points earned is down compared to last financial year. Growth in member numbers is down compared to last financial year. Growth...

    Thank you for your loyalty

If Qantas had wanted to make the loyalty gift actually useful, they would have given it to people at the start of their next membership year or allowed people to swap it out for points. But they didn't, and that was a very deliberate decision.

    Thank you for your loyalty

Trust Qantas to award a gift for loyalty that, for many people, will have precisely 0 value lol.

KrisFlyer devaluation beginning Nov 1st 2025

Last devaluation was in 2022. Going to make it increasingly hard for Australian credit card holders to be able to afford SQ redemptions when you combine with the 3:1 transfer ratio from most programs.

    Emirates First seat Melbourne DXB-MEL

Having recently flown both the refurbished and non-refurbished A380 F, the differences are very small. If anything, my partner preferred the non-refurbished seats.

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

It's an interesting equation. If you're looking purely for the cheapest points, the Ascent/Biz cards are better. If you're looking to acquire points without affecting your 5/24 status, the Biz card is the choice. If you're looking for the most value out of a single card, the Summit is prob...

    Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards

Yes, that's correct, but there are now all sorts of disincentives for choosing segments or distance hidden in the T&Cs. For example, you no longer get minimum miles or class of service bonuses if choosing distance.

Where's all the UA J (Polaris) TPAC availability gone?

My guess is it is deliberate rather than a clumsy implementation/system issue. They have decided they only want to give award space to their own members (elites/credit card holders). Indeed, it might be a negotiating tactic to get partners to pay more for United seats — a lot of that has been...

    Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards

What has so far gone under the radar is that they've largely moved to a revenue-based program. You still have the option to earn by distance/segments, but they're going to appeal to fewer people from next year due to the earn rate. Just like many other programs, they primarily want you earning...

Where's all the UA J (Polaris) TPAC availability gone?

United recently started offering IN (ie expanded saver-level award inventory) to credit card holders as well as elites. Pure speculation on my part, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have restricted regular award inventory (ie the type VA can book) to see how this new expanded access goes for...

Citi Prestige Bonus Point Offers & Discussion

NAB hasn't announced what they'll do with existing card holders once the Citi brand comes to an end. When NAB transitioned Citi banking customers across to their platform, they said they would honour a number of features of the Citi accounts and varied a number of others. Edit: I will add that...

Citi Prestige Bonus Point Offers & Discussion

It is fairly reasonable to assume that something significant is going to happen at the end of September. We do not precisely know what, of course. What we do know is: 1. Citi has announced the cessation of a range of promotions next month, including the end of cash back offers as well as the...
