My US account appeared automatically (and vice versa) without having to set anything up. I think it's a 'feature' rather than an option - they want you to use their expensive forex feature :)

For the W7, if I'm choosing option b (nonresident alien filing a US tax return), is it ok to use my (relative's) US address as the mailing address ? Or does this then circle back to them asking why a nonresident has a residential address...
