Australian man uses Auckland Airport as start and finish point for a world record attempt

Rottnest Island in WA is the antipode of Bermuda. Probably not a useful combo for a record attempt though!

A dry holiday to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The Saudis are spending a bomb on trying to get a tourism market going. Will it work? This video review of a new Saudi resort popped up on my youtube feed a few weeks back. I took the time to watch the whole thing. The resort itself is visually spectacular, particularly the architecture. It...

    HKG - any airside hotels?

There’s the Regal. It’s not airside, but it’s connected to the terminal.

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

We have a 2 night stopover at SIN, and our digs are the Pan Pacific at Marina Bay This is a well located hotel, right next to a small mall and metro station. It's one stop to the MBS complex. Also good, you can now just tap your credit card to use the MRT! Haven't been to SIN for a while so...

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

Wrapping this one up, we have a lovely meal for our last night in Paris at Le Moliere, a small family run restaurant. ====================================================== Then the next day it's off to CDG to begin the journey home. Our flights as far as Singapore are awards, followed by a...

Cancelled flights & waivers due to Cyclone Alfred

The opposite could also be the case though. I’ll bet there’s plenty of interstate travellers stuck in BNE and the goldy that are at/near the airport and happy to jump on the first available flight home. Any seat, any airline. That would help fill the planes.

Cancelled flights & waivers due to Cyclone Alfred

FR24 is showing both Brisbane and Coolangatta airports running pretty well with avg delays under 20 mins. A few cancellations in the mix too, of course. I imagine there’s a lot of planes out of position and that will take a few days to shake off.

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

The weather was cold but extremely clear. Probably the clearest sky I have ever seen in a major city in Western Europe. This made for some spectacular sights outside the Louvre.

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

We didn't have any specific plans in Paris. It was just a short visit because this is where I was able to find award seats for the trip home: CDG - HEL - SIN stopover SYD The French National Library is worth a visit

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

New year's day arrives and we're on a TGV to Paris. The train is really moving. This gets us to Paris Gare de l'est in about 2 hours. It's non stop all the way from Strasbourg. Here of course pretty much everyone has to transfer to the Metro to get to their final destination. A big tip here...

    Pickpocketed in Bangkok: by Qantas

Possible I guess, but it would be unusual way to deal with a simple date change on a flex ticket. Certainly shouldn’t be done this way without the passengers consent or the passenger requesting it. Isn’t there some provision that once the itinerary has commenced, then the airline doesn’t have...

    Pickpocketed in Bangkok: by Qantas

It was essentially a double charge. The passenger already had a fully paid flex ticket for the trip home. Pretty poor show by Qantas here.

    Pickpocketed in Bangkok: by Qantas

It would be extremely unfair and dishonest to put it on them. It is in no way their fault and they appear to have had no knowledge of this. As I understand it, the OP made his own changes directly with the airline, and the airline (or contractor) stuffed it up.
