Cold ones are cold, hot ones are heated.
They come with chopsticks typically, and usually a serviette.
Yes for sure alcohol no problem.
Do you mean the many vending machines everywhere? Sure, I have canned coffee every day !
Sadly without Wifi I can't do any work on plane but I have done plenty on the Shinakansen bullet trains in Japan which are basically planes on rails. Makes the trips go nice and quickly. Hopefully the wifi on Qantas works as intended (eventually).
Always next time ;)
Speaking of Hello Kitty, by absolute chance recently I ended up on the Hello Kitty shinkansen. It's smaller than the usual ones so felt a little cramped but was kind of cool I guess. Got a Hello Kitty cookie

QF80, recently. I was ready to talk cough about the chicken but man it was actually really good, not dry at all. The soup is actually my new entre of choice for the evening flight back, just a shame they don't have garlic bread :(
I did notice this card payment a few times recently too, in Tokyo as well but can't recall which lines it was on. Could be right about the non JR though
Trip looks great. You may not care but that exchange rate is pretty bad and you can get cash out from regular ATMs for cheaper. I use bankwest card specifically for doing that as it cancels the exchange rate fee.
Also @rbjhan (or anyone else that may benefit from the info) it is possible to...
QF158 AKL>MEL - Had a Cannelloni, again put my extra vegs in there and mixed it around. It was OK, but was only a little hungry still as I'd loaded up at the Emirates lounge prior which blew the nuts off the revamped Qantas lounge... that seemed the same as it was before basically.
QF151 MEL>AKL. Breakfast. This is bacon and egg thing with other things. The bacon was decent, egg not sure if it had any egg actually in it and that little cake on the left I'm also not sure what it was. Watermelon was nice though but not disappointed I ate in the lounge.
Also forgot about this but recently went to train museum in Kyoto and can thoroughly recommend if you're in the area.. and there were hardly any tourists!
