    Any reports on Conrad Shenzen

Just reporting back: - Stunning hotel, great rooms, huge, comfortable bed - Good breakfast / lunch in hotel - Amazing gym & lap pool, one of the best hotel gyms ever seen - Very quiet - Not much in local area (I was there for work so this didn’t matter to me)

    IHG Hotels that recognise status

People’s QFF points still posting quickly? I had a bunch of stays that posted 2 days after to both my IHG and QFF account but now up to week 3 for a stay early Feb… odd…

Six million people a year would use train to Melbourne Airport

When the trains are running, yes… sigh.

    Ways that hotels annoy guests

Same, I have a photo of it as a backup and hold firm if challenged. Never not won 😉

Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

Quick side step - has anyone printed anything in the MEL F lounge recently? I can’t recall seeing a printer in the office I used last time…

Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

Well Velocity is hardly a stellar program anymore, especially after the last round of devaluations

    Any reports on Conrad Shenzen

Hi all, heading to Shenzen for a week, staying at what appears to be relatively new Conrad Shenzen. Any AFF members stayed here / reports? Not many reviews and many sound a bit.. fake 😉

Sydney Airport train line sudden strike 14th February 2025

Got caught in this. Nightmare. Whatever the conclusion it needs to be reached asap, for all parties involved, has gone on far too long. Sydney PT is a joke.

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

I hope they put better seats in the E190s than the new ones going in the 737s which are akin to sitting on a concrete slab for me!

Booming Chinese airlines offer bargain business flights to Europe

That’s not entirely accurate but he is entitled to his opinion, his whole book is full of opinions some are closer to truth than others but that’s for the other thread ;)

Booming Chinese airlines offer bargain business flights to Europe

It’s definitely an interesting market still (J to EU). Our corporate policies (thankfully in some people’s opinions) rule out most of the mainland Chinese carriers from being booked unless no reasonable alternative. We also have the ability for the traveller to ethically decline to travel on a...

    Qantas DSC October 2024 Offer - book by 31/10/24 & fly 1/11/24-19/10/25

Apologies if already asked and answered. If you get offered a free fly ahead from QF (which happens to me more often than not on the golden triangle), do you still automatically get the double status? Assuming should be fine as PNR is not impacted and travel date same.

BA Executive Club change to spend-based status earning

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a huge and overwhelming negative response to a change - the press and blogs have been savage!! The Velocity one was pretty bad of course on an Australian scale but less vocal flyers and much less of a business / corporates flyer focus who tend to yell the loudest.

Velocity asking for more money the day of travel or they’ll cancel my ticket

Good luck! What a nightmare…. Let us know how you go.

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

I think people will still come through the curtain whatever form it takes. On other airlines that have curtain solutions I’ve seen this too. Staff will still have to be trained to turn back infringers, I think there is clearly some reluctance for them to do this for fear of a confrontation...

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

It’s already been shown to focus groups, and I think posted in this thread (? Maybe another one ) if you care to trawl through all the posts 😉
