Well the map above, available here so you can see the meaning of the lines, shows that the possible centre at this time could pass anywhere from just north of the Gold Coast to north of Double Id. Point. http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDQ65002.shtml

Cancelled flights & waivers due to Cyclone Alfred

The holding pattern it did last night I don't think was predicted and only moving at 10kph (bom meteorologist on abc radio just now) so, yes, I think more likely that more changes to come.

Synoptic chart from BoM showing the H in the Tasman Sea blocking Alfred from continuing south. Also there's a L trough passing through nsw. If Alfred slows down enough or stops for a few days, it could then recommence its relatively harmless south trajectory (and dissipate over the cooler sea)...

Jetstar slightly better than Virgin. I booked my $73 JQ ticket to bne this morning (for Wednesday pm) and have been given flexibility; wouldn't if I'd booked Virgin (edit..or booked QFA). Contrary to most, if cyclone moves away I'll cancel.

    AFF Member Stock Discussion

Tariffs? What are ...oh yes I remember now, my parents had to buy my transistor radio in Singapore, too dear in Australia. As tariff reductions have enabled growth without inflation, will tariff increases risk recession with inflation? And how do you then control inflation if you're already in...

So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

Had similar experience, usually happens when car in front has almost but not completely completed its turn. So that car appears to be almost stopped wrt its apparent speed in the same direction as you, which is not its actual speed. I suspect software not developed enough, and also to know that...

So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

That's very bad luck, a seal replacement after only 24k km. Obviously a manufacturing fault that took 4 years to deteriorated to the point of leaking; usually lasts the life of a car. Mercedes have had recalls. I also have a B out of warranty, 50k km, only issue is wheel sensor gone a few...

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

I disagree, if goods/services are on sale but the points/method of purchasing those is not, then it is deceptive to claim that the points/method of purchasing is on sale. Adding... but I wouldn't go to court about it, I'm just the man on the Bondi tram ordinary person

Did Tansy rewrite the original "This journalist was pleasantly surprised to find..." ? Edit: I've just got round to reading the Weekend Australian where Tansy is the supposed writer. The Australian website bio of her states that she " has previously...worked in strategy at Qantas."
