Public Transport to our airports - what's cheapest?

Actually "complements" of nsw gov. There actually is an extra access fee for using Mascot Station (although less than the dom/international fee); used to be paid by the passenger but the nsw gov now pays it for each passenger. Train then bus works well for me. I plan home departure to arrive at...

    Apple Airtags

I have a Moto tag on my keyring. Handy for finding the car keys when within Bluetooth range of my (Motorola) ph, but rarely works/locates elsewhere. As for airtags, last update 2021. Rumored update version coming later this year with a better (longer range) chip.

Amex removed my ability to refer friends

I'm going to apply for an Amex Qantas Ultimate card, couldn't find any referral posts on searching AFF, just this thread. I'm happy to be "referred" if anyone benefits (although I presume no extra benefit for me)

    AFF Member Stock Discussion

I presume their progress report was very bullish, considering the big increase I've noticed in the price of their oils in the supermarket (but was ½ price in Coles or wollies last week). Commodity price chart of EVO , staggering inc in the last few years, now appears to be moderating.

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

Me too, 8% net av return, and as I said in "growth" investment option, I used"Superguide" as my source, which states 10yr average as 9% on growth and "Performance is shown net of investment fees and tax, and before administration and adviser commissions. Our main differences are in indexation...

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

Sure, starting balance $1m In year 1 add $25500 ($30k before 15% tax) x 1.08 = $1107540. Repeat (+$25½, then x 1.08) 11 more times. Takes 12 years, obviously from any age, and for simplicity it doesn't account for the contribution may be spread over 12 months but conversely also doesn't account...

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

No in my example the top-up, depending upon how much one's SG might be, requires maybe an extra $10k pa (net) for 12 years.

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

I think many more people will be affected in retirement by the proposed changes, than they realise. Eg, a 55yo with $1m balance. Contributes $30k pa through SG + deductable topping up. Say, 8% av. return in growth/share option. Super balance will be>$3 by retirement age 67. Historical returns...

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

Lost my credit card yesterday, 1st time in 50 years. It fell out of the phone wallet. Not really a "travel" mistake unless walking from a Brisbane train station to Uber counts, but relaying now my Macquarie bank app experience. Put temporary stop on card, quick and easy just a few taps. Short...

In today's AFR https://www.afr.com/wealth/tax/these-4-deductions-could-cut-your-tax-by-121-400-20250602-p5m48s Journalist states "Concessional super contributions.
