Both Amex and C1’s online forms now end in a declaration as above (I certify I am a US citizen or person) I suspect all the banks have been told to tighten up account opening…

So you needed to go via live chat to apply rather than the online form ?

Has anyone opened one of these recently ? As when I tried with C1, it ends up in a W9 form which makes you say ‘Under the penalties of perjury’ that you are a US citizen. There’s no option for anything else

If you are trying to avoid any scrutiny then I think the $6 extra postage will be worth it
